Patch 4.3: Worgen racial mounts

Players were torn over Running Wild, mostly because each mount collected counts toward the achievement Mountain o' Mounts, which rewards a Red or Blue Dragonhawk to fly around on. Many Alliance players were upset over the fact that Horde players had an easier time collecting 100 mounts because of the Goblins' trikes. Horses make sense for Worgen, as Worgen are still essentially a Human nation, and Humans in Warcraft ride horses. These two particular mounts seem a bit plain, though. These new mounts are coming in most likely to ease the disparity between mounts when faction changes occur. All in all, this is good news for Alliance mount collectors.
Patch 4.3: Worgen racial mounts
We're not going to make it very far without transportation, are we? If we just hightail it out of here, the forsaken will catch up to us in no time at all.
Rounding up some horses from the stable grounds southeast of here would normally be a breeze, but there's one snag. That last quake must've spooked Koroth, the ettin, down from the mountains. If we don't get our horses soon, I fear that he will.
In patch 4.3, we'll be introducing worgen racial mounts to the stables of Azeroth. These sleek horses have been constant companions for the denizens of Gilneas since time immemorial, and your worgen characters will now be able to claim their ancestral mounts.

We hope you'll visit the new worgen racial mount vendor to pick out a steed to call your own.

Worgens got Running Wild. That's their racial mount. The horse is gravy. It doesn't need to be special because the special mount is already there.
This'd be like the Goblins kept their trikes, then got some obscure wolf model as well. It's not even on the level of the pink forsaken war mount debacle.

I want my Black War Trike Nao!

It's nice to get mounts. I switched to a different mount as soon as I got exalted with a different faction to avoid crude comments. It would be nice to get something a little different than a human mount however. So I can get a human horse or a worgen horse.
And the Crowd goes wild.
yaay...

Meh.
shadowhowl1900 Sep 1st 2011 4:06PM
i would have rather seen a pink unicorn than the horse....

Horse drawn carriages like the kind seen around Gilneas would have been cool Worgen mounts.

But Ghostcrawler promised ME a pony!

Wow, that's embarassing. Pretty hard to argue for Blizzard after such an obvious poor effort. 2 horse skins from Wrath (Grizzly Hills) with the riding code already in place from the alliance quest.
Yikes. As stated in earlier posts maybe hyping such laziness isn't a good idea.

Definitely pretty boring, and yet another example of how lazy/unmotivated Blizz is. Horse just in general are pretty damn boring; unless you're a Paladin with their chargers, I don't think I've ever seen anyone riding a horse mount, let alone go out of their way to grind rep to ride one. Even the armored ones given out for like ToC and the RBGs and such are kinda lame, when you consider the Horde equivalent (Orcs and wolves) are much neater.
Seriously, why not dig up those "war hogs" from the concept are and let worgen ride them? Granted, I thought they were a tad silly, but it's still something different and fun. I mean, Goblin trikes, those are fun and worth grinding if non-goblin as (from purely a looks perspective) they're far cheaper to get for a motorcycle feel than a mechano-hog, whose only benefit is seating someone else (which given this day and age of flying and summoning anywhere, is almost near useless).
Regardless, meh. My worgen looks badass enough riding his ZG raptor mount; now werewolves on raptors? That's badass. Werewolves riding horses bareback? That's pretty damn lame.

Ok blizz hear me out... here a pitch for the worgen mounts. Ever seen those medieval tapestry? The one where there were nobles that rode horses with tabards (read no armor) that covered them completely except for the eyes?
That. It is Gilnean like, it could fit the Victorian life that gilneans have. OH and also, make it in a way that female ride it sideways, like a proper english lady!

I would rather to give up run on 4. It pretty cool? It only cool when i was watching promo video. When worgan no ruu form but staying. They look like a doggie. There cloth cloth wearing class climb on 4 mostly look laughtable. When i roll a worgen, my first to-do is finding a mount. Now they suddenly throw out a mount, it is blizz can do whatever on tge excuse of class balance. Why the gell need such balance this and that...

If you all will recall, there was a recent "interview" in which it was stated that Mists of Pandaria was "wildly overhyped". Mostly, this was thought of as an attempt to throw off the general community from the scent of the next expansion.
It didn't work too well.
Now, the massive QQ and debate going on over this mount? THAT is called subterfuge, my friends. "Mists of what-now? Who cares. Worgens are getting a boring horse!"
They literally are having people beat a dead (or at least pixelated) horse over this topic, and it's working great to detract attention from other goings-on, at least for a few days.

Looking at these pictures I have to ask:
Is it just me or do these images look kind of photoshopped with how the worgen sits on the horse?
Halimain Sep 2nd 2011 5:23AM
Ettins riding ponies!
Yay!
robsmith77 Sep 2nd 2011 10:01AM
On the one hand I'm pleased that these mounts will be in the game and that they will be horses. On the other hand I've already got 136 mounts (only 10 of which are from the Pet Store or Trading Card game), almost none of which I actually use, so an extra couple just seems like overkill. I'll still buy them of course, just because I can, but I really can't see the point of them. Those people who claim that the 100 mount achievement is easier if you play Horde are just mindless whingers who probably think they should get an achievement/reward just for logging in to play.
glenfig Sep 2nd 2011 10:56AM
The fact is that the goblins have a unique mount associated with the "unique" race.
If you were doing this right it should be a unique equivalent.
I would like to see a "horse driven mount" perhaps a "trotter" pulled by this plain horse. This would keep with the Gilnean theme of the Horse and Carraige.
Jcompguy Sep 2nd 2011 12:37PM
People weren't pissed because the mounts were being added to even out the imbalance. They were pissed because Blizzard took forever to finally deliver a polished turd and acted like it was new and exciting content.
Blizzard has been VERY lazy on the content side of things since cata launched, and this was one more example to add to the list.

My lovely horse.

@Necrosaro
Did Bloodsail Admiral with just myself (mage) and my husband (rogue). Not a 10 man raid by any means.....

they should have made stage coachs for the racial mount. like the one in worg story line.
