As a Hunter I do thoroughly enjoy being able to send my pet Turtle to tank. I believe that, although unlikely, being able to do an alternate job with all 4 DPS classes would be enjoyable. Mage healer seems interesting to me for sure. I would think Warlock might be able to be tweaked into a healer too.

I play a frost mage and I really like it. So much that I forgo the spec with my favorite spell in the game (Arcane missiles). The though of a mage healing makes about as much sense to me as a warlock healing. I do agree with the premise of dissolving current roles and possibly going to a 6 man rotation for dungeons (12 and 30 for raids). If the game needs more healers, bring in the monk or bard to offer up some heals/buffs. Please leave my magi alone. /beg.

I agree with you. Early on in Cata heroics, if the tank died during a boss fight, I'd buy myself some time to dismiss my wolf and call in my bear. In fact, many Foe Reaper victories were won in that way! lol In the same vein, I get a kick out of deterrence tanking (e.g. Chimaeron after the tanks die) and doing all sorts of other things that don't directly involve DPS'ing.In short, hunter tanking would be awesome!

Hey Remember.... Jaina HEALS! and summons 10 water elementals... I for one WOULD LOVE to be of extra utility and be able to heal with frost cause unless its pvp frost ( my favorite spec in the whole game.. I have many 85's ) is useless. At least make a more dynamic choice rather than having to be Arcane in PVE and Frost in PVP and Fire if you like to burn up the Dummy Boss trying to get your meters to match arcane.Sorry Had to add that in. I loved that Jaina Healed.

I was thinking Mages could get a Time spec that essentially "reverses" damage. This way, they use a very Mage-focused them, not a holy/nature/radiance theme.

I love the idea of Arcane Mages reversing damage.

LOL I love the idea of a Mage controlling time! You could also have "Stop Time" (pauses combat for 30 seconds, 5 minute cooldown, only the Mage can move) or "Second Chance" (rewind the last 10 seconds of combat, like right after a tank dies, 8 minute cooldown)

I remember a comic or blog or something making the joke that their mage is a mitigation healer. They mitigate incoming damage by doing so much dps that the mob dies before doing damage.
