What a painful format this is. What would be a lot more useful is to have 5-10 screenshots of possible "looks" and the items one could use to obtain those looks.

I'd like to do something like that in the future, but as far as I'm aware, it requires the use of the WoW Model Viewer. I'm on a Mac without Boot Camp at the moment, which makes that problematic. Otherwise, I'd have to have everything I want to screenshot on hand right now, and while I have a lot of it, I don't have it all. :(

Wowhead can provide you with both a flash- and java-based 3D view, if you don't mind a black background. The java one even supports glows (often used by shoulders) and animations.
