We're looking for feedback on your class as we work on changes and adjustments for a future game update. While we may be making some specific class changes in 4.3, what we're looking for in this thread is overall feeling on the class as a whole for more long term changes in the future.

Here is the kind of feedback that is NOT helpful in this particular thread:
- Concerns that your current damage, healing or tanking is not competitive. While this kind of feedback is often useful, it also is the kind of thing that can change from patch to patch, and so it isn't as useful for long term vision changes.
- Concerns that your feedback is being ignored or that we don't take these kind of posts seriously, or otherwise posting anything that is off-topic or not in the spirit of this thread's intent.

- What type of content do you focus on? [PvE/PvP/Both]
- If PvE, what type of PvE? [Heroics/Raids/Other]
- If PvP, what type of PvP? [Arenas, BGs, Rated BGs]
- What are your biggest quality-of-life issues? For instance, no longer requiring ammo could be considered a quality-of-life improvement for hunters.
- What makes playing your class more fun?
- What makes playing your class less fun?
- How do you feel about your "rotation"? (Rotation is the accepted order in which abilities are used to maximum efficiency.)
- What's on your wish list for your class?
- What spells do you use the least?

the biggest change you could do is seperate pvp and pve. its impossible to balance them both when only using one spec. give us a seperate pvp spec and put hungering cold back to instant cast for pve.
Jordanlneal Sep 13th 2011 12:27AM
The problem with one pvp spec is hybrid classes. You would have to add one pvp spec for pure classes but up to three specs for shamans and druids. Both classes pvp as melee, caster, and healer.

Did anyone think that they could use the same abilities and talents, but then have a different version of it for pvp? You could have your normal role for PVE, but if you start doing Battlegrounds or if you attack another player in world PVP your abilities change to reflect player combat. You simply have an ability that goes "Shadow Bolt: X-Y damage PVE. Shadow Bolt X-Y damage Z% chance to stun if corruption is active on the target." It would create a bunch of work right now, but as far as balancing goes in the future it would be much easier to change the PVP aspect and leave the PVE and vice versa.

I can't decide which is worse, my working on this while I'm heavily distracted with other things and will undoubtedly forget important issues, or working on this while I'm focused and thus have the time to actually get upset (about my paladin, I'm actually okay with where my hunter is right now).

I really wish BM Hunter was a viable tanking class.
VioletArrows Sep 12th 2011 6:33PM
I'm honestly not sure if I'd continue even playing the game if they turned BM into tank spec. I'm one of those poor stupid people who's only good at one or two things (as opposed to people who can just easily work with any class or spec). And with ret pallies being 'gently nudged' to move to tanking and healing, my BM hunter was left as my main. I don't like tanking. It's frustrating and stressful, which is the exact opposite reason I play games. So BM being moved to tanking would literally leave me with *nothing* in WoW.

I remain hopeful that when and if they ever make specs like Beastmastery, Demonology, Enhancement and so on into tanks, that they'll treat it like they do Feral and let them do both DPS and tanking depending on how you do your build. Sure it'll be harder to balance--but I believe the trade-off is more than worth it, and the rise in tanks is heck of enough a reason to try. Besides, you can only tweak a game so closely before you run out ways to balance things.
Noyou Sep 12th 2011 8:34PM
The only way they can do that is if they make PvP and PvE totally separate. Otherwise your BM, warlock, enhance shaman tanks would be so overpowered. People complain so much about tanks now, I'm pretty sure if non tanks are allowed to tank the QQ would get to unprecedented levels. Especially in the age of dungeon finder. Be careful what you wish for.
Snark Sep 12th 2011 10:03PM
They wouldn't be OP in PVP because it'd all be threat dependent on the pets. High defense/hp/tank abilities would all be on the pets. PVP players will ignore pets and kill the character instead.
Snark Sep 12th 2011 10:05PM
Also, as was said before, it'd be like feral, depending on spec and..... gear? Hmmmmm.
Fletcher Sep 13th 2011 1:38AM
Chuck the tanking stuff into the Tenacity pet tree. That way BM can run as a DPS spec with a Ferocity pet and switch to tank with a change of pet.
Josho Sep 12th 2011 5:50PM
Quick...everyone say you want permanent tree form back!
droknar Sep 12th 2011 6:00PM
Some of us never wanted it gone. I was leveling a druid around then specifically TO run around as a tree. Change is made, I find my druid collecting dust at the bottom of my character list, solely existing to store my heirlooms.
Haden Sep 12th 2011 6:11PM
i know i cant say this without sounding like im QQing but i would just like the option to have a full time form in resto. Something we can pop into so every1 knows right off the bat where a resto druid. maybe not tree form exactly! i always played with the idea of resto druids having bark skin like the one in this wallpaper

Noyou Sep 12th 2011 6:27PM
My druid is still a baby and I haven't dual spec'd yet. At some point I will try resto I think. I feel that tree of life should be glyphed at least, putting the choice in the players hands. For many druids, resto in particular, tree form is what it is all about.
robitrock Sep 12th 2011 6:46PM
Nah I would rather have a damage mitigation CD, besides tree form works better as a CD unless you tank heal all the time. It's op as a full time form nowadays, especially but not limited to pvp.
I would rather have a targetable barkskin then look like a tree.

make the warlocks metamorphesis permanent like shadowform!! and we can fly in that form!! i know, big expectation, but i can dream right? :D
Drakkenfyre Sep 12th 2011 6:19PM
Sure, as soon as you give the ability to tank to Shadowform. You expect +600% armor, +20% damage, -6% chance to be crit by melee, and -50% duration on stuns and snares, new abilities, on a permanent basis. Not happening.
incoming00 Sep 12th 2011 6:38PM
well i was talking about the form itself, not the abilities.
make it non tankable, increase 200% instead of 600% armor (or 15% damage reduction like shadowform, or not at all since locks have soul link), 15% increase in shadow spells (like shadowform), no uncritable advantage, no stun reduction, and keep the same abilities given(which is only like 3 new spells), and there ya go, permanent meta form. and i say why not? there are already classes that cant use all abilities based on form/stance/stealth already.
and if it is permanent with its current state, then yes permanent metamorphesis would be a tank form.
Drakkenfyre Sep 12th 2011 7:10PM
So essentially, Shadowform with three new abilities.
Blizzard already said they didn't want to copy abilities from one class to another. They go back and forth on this. One time we get all thee healing spells with a different name, another they are trying to differiate them. Then we get spells which are similiar to other classes abillities, then we go back again.
But essentially giving a copy of Shadowform? They aren't going to do that.
