Were any of you around for Lich King? Don't you remember the ICC raids getting progressively easier as the scaling buff thing went up? Yeah, it's somewhat early yet, but if they slowly nerf the raids over the course of the next few months, it works out to be pretty analogous. Plus, this way they might be able to set up the 4.3 raids so they're pretty hard if you're not in firelands gear - no excuse.

The difference with that is that it was a buff to the players that was able to be toggled OFF. Of course, I bet almost no one did toggle it off, but the point is we had the choice to. Here, there's no choice. It's "Get it done now or lose some of the prestige of doing it pre-nerf."Note that I am not a raider by any definition of the word, but I can understand how they must feel.

I am a raid leader, prestige? Who cares. What I care about is having my whole guild in T12 before 4.3, the fact this will make that much less of a grind means I am nothing but happy. People who do things for the prestige of long ago got their kills. This helps the rest of us average joes get to equal footing.

Yes, it could be turned off... I never met a raid leader who did though. Any that were are epeening. Really, no one gives a shat when you did something, or how hard it was for you.

I'm a raid leader of a fairly casual 10-man raid group.Regarding prestige of an un-nerfed kill: it is nice to be able to say that you accomplished something at it's original difficulty level. This is, by all means, likely an exception, not the norm, but for my raid group, summer hit us really hard and we unfortunately had to take 2-3 pugs every raid night, thus weren't even really trying much of Firelands until now.Good ol' September has saved the day and we're just now (2-3 weeks) starting Firelands in earnest. Personally, I'd like to have a few more weeks to work on it without nerfs. But, again, our raid group is probably in a somewhat unique place.

@Ralod Some of us have not finished all the heroic content and would like to go through it without the nerfs. We only raid about 4 hours a week so we're not sitting on top of a rag kill. This is retarded.

I think it is pretty clear that the nerfs are precisely for people like you Como- the initial blue post laid it out. They're monitoring progress, and they don't see as many people getting through the raids as they'd like. So they will make it slightly easier to get through normal mode in the first place, and a bit easier to get up to H. Rag so you can join the (currently) vanishingly small percentage of the playerbase that's actually encountered that content. There's no downside to this. If they had just buffed player DPS by 10% across the board, people would be cheering in the streets. Instead, they'll do the same net thing, but by nerfing the hardest content. It's how the game has *always* worked- ICC was actually pretty unique (and interesting) in how it had a built-in scaling nerf predesigned. Plenty of other raids got nerfed, and especially nerfed hard during the last little bit of their relevance. P
