So far, the final raid of
Cataclysm looks like it is shaping up to be one of the most epic tiers of content we have experienced yet.
Warriors and
warlocks have gotten previews of their new armor sets coming in
patch 4.3, as well as associated transmogrification-centric retrospectives on their previous armor iterations. Druids,
your time is now. Sadly, the armor set does not yet have its associated name.
We originally surmised that the druid armor would be based on the green dragon aspect Ysera, as the warrior tier was based on an aspect. Looks like we were wrong-ish. Druid tier 13 looks great, somewhat inspired by the world tree Nordrassil, and I'm sure all of the resto druids who actually get to see it most of the time will be very, very happy. I cannot wait to see what it looks like on a Troll, to be honest.
Brace yourselves for what could be some of most exciting updates to the game recently with patch 4.3. Look at what's ahead: new item storage options, cross-realm raiding, cosmetic armor skinning and your chance to battle the mighty Deathwing -- from astride his back!

Looks like tier 7.5. Kinda disappointed. It's nice by itself, but in comparison with what we've seen in the past, :\

t13 is looking really good to me so far. You can tell which class is which by what armor they are wearing (so far... only seen three obviously). Arguably the warlock armor doesn't look very demonic, but i think its pretty sick and evil.

Just give me a freaking belt that isn't a mile wide...
Tired of toons that look like they just won the WWF championship belt.

"Sadly, the armor set does not yet have its associated name."
Fixed.

You guys who dislike it need to zoom in and see all of the detailed texture work. It definitely does NOT look bland.
Matthew Sep 13th 2011 1:55PM
I don't think it's bland. It's just too similar to what we've already seen before.
Imnick Sep 13th 2011 1:44PM
I honestly wish they'd start using modeled robes instead of relying on textures
The bits like the bark strips and dangling ropes would look so much better if they weren't a flat 2D plane
Luvaria Sep 13th 2011 1:46PM
Yeah, but it's not really an issue for me until they do their battle stance, then it stretches and looks weird around the bottom.

Definitely my favorite druid tier set since BC. I don't understand how people can hate every single tier set released. Each time they do some preview, 80% of the posts seem to be along the lines of "I hate it." If you guys don't stop giving such extremely negative opinions of it, we're going to start seeing PvP style gear: all brown/gray with nothing distinct about it.

I like T11, T12 makes me cringe. This is ok though.
Revynn Sep 13th 2011 1:47PM
I really like this. T11 is still one of the most beautiful tier sets they've ever created (IMO, of course), but it wasn't particularly "druid-y-ish" with the lightning and bright blue and all. This, however, is covered in leaves and Ivy . . . Very cool.
I just love the polarized reactions to these tier sets. "OMG I HATE IT!!" and the next post down "OMG I LOVE IT".

Blizzard announces something new...people bitch.
Gaurisk Sep 13th 2011 1:53PM
Yep, that sure is a Druid set.
In fact, it's every Druid set. Assigning it a serial number instead of a distinctive name was the right move.

LOL!!!!!

I like this, but my favorites are the animal theme sets - tiers 1 and 6, in particular.
Lemons Sep 13th 2011 2:16PM
I'm actually really impressed. It looks great! Hopefully the rest of the sets look this good.
Fossless Sep 13th 2011 2:31PM
Shroooooommmsss, love it, the kinda bland design is simony and nice to look at, reminds me of t2
Skarn Sep 13th 2011 2:48PM
I quite like it. I think it looks very awesome. Very druidish, very simple. Nice to see a set that's not super extravagant, but looks great. Then again, it's easier to like it when it's not MY set. :)
I am disappointed that this preview didn't come with the little "this is how we designed it" blurb. It certainly looks like it was based on Nordrassil, which is cool. I hope they add the blurb in later when they give it a name.
Arrohon Sep 13th 2011 3:28PM
It's simple, but you can see that there's a large polygon amount. It's simple AND detailed.
