The Daily Quest: Why, back in my day
WoW Insider's on a Daily Quest to bring you interesting, informative, and entertaining WoW-related links from around the blogosphere.
Back in my day, Drek'Thar was an Orc to be feared. Nowadays, he's not quite as spry as he used to be, but he's just as intimidating. Things were pretty different back then -- none of these fancy heirlooms all you kids are running around with. And dailies? Ha! When you finished all the quests, that was it. No dailies to be found anywhere! And none of that fancy flying, either.
Today, we've got a few posts from around the blogosphere chatting about days gone by and things new and old.
Is there a story out there we ought to link or a blog we should be following? Just leave us a comment, and you may see it here tomorrow! Be sure to check out our WoW Resources Guide for more WoW-related sites.

The perfect header pic for that headline, and the perfect headline for that header pic.

My new Alliance main is (supposed to be) working on Netherwing. They're my favorite drakes. Unfortunately I subscribed to WoW only to get bored after three days again. -_-*

Is that an actual quest or something in the header image? If so i somehow missed Drek'thar being wheeled about in a chair (which is something I'm pretty sure I'd remember seeing). I realize he's old & blind and everything, but I've never actually seen (or read) anything about him being unable to walk on his own.

It's a quest in Hillsbrad Foothills. The Alliance have set up camp on the cliffs, and High Warlord Cromush sends you to recruit the Frostwolf Clan to help kill them. Drek'thar *refuses*, saying that while he's done some bad things in his time, helping the Forsaken would be *worse*.
Cromush is floored by this, and with good reason - the Frostwolf Clan is something of a moral compass to the orcs, as they were exiled for not falling in line behind Gul'dan's grand plan. For them to refuse the Horde's call to battle is a moral indictment of the Horde. It's a bit like being bitchslapped by the Dalai Lama.

Back in my day we had to walk everywhere, and stand in front of instances hoping that someone would pass by after an hour or two to hear our pleas of assistance.
Let's not forget that gold was worth something... by which I mean A LOT!

Wierdly enough my latest blog post is about something that happened long ago in WoW. And it mentions WoW Insider too. It's like fate brought us together on this very day.
