My answer to the armor question is and always has been that while all leather certainly can't be so, the druids tier sets should be graphically created around the alternate forms. Feral tier gear should be visible in bear/cat form, balance tier set should go on an owlkin and tree form would have had models set. It's a bit more work, but it'd be worth it overall I think.
