Breakfast Topic: Do you blog about WoW?

Have you ever noticed that a search for tips about WoW brings up about a million blogs on the subject? Blogs can be found on nearly every aspect of WoW -- you can find lore blogs, class blogs, race blogs, profession blogs ... You name it, there's a blog on it.
I personally maintained a blog for raiding mages for a while, but I had to let it go when my raiding group went on hiatus and I simply couldn't fit any of the other raiding groups into my schedule. I'd like to get back to it. It was a lot of fun, and I also noticed that since I was trying to pay really close attention to mechanics so that I could pass the information on to other mages, it made me a better raider. My husband currently writes a blog about being a dad who games. I know that there are a bunch of those out there too, but it's fun for him to discuss situations that come up in his daily life with other people who understand completely.
What about you? Do you blog about WoW or gaming in general? What's your specific topic of expertise? Do you feel like you have a lot to contribute on the subject? Have you thought about starting a blog but just haven't found your niche yet? Do have any specific blogs about WoW that you really like?

No.

No, what?
"No, I do blog about WoW but I'm too strapped for time to compel you with all the details, right now. But by Jove it's one heck of a word spinner. Interesting post! " ...?
Or "No, I really don't blog about WoW, I find the whole thing frightfully boring as I've usually got one of my daggers up a Horde's posterior, but then that's what they get for flag camping in WSG, PvP FTW blood, great article!" ...?

All I can picture right now is Bobby Bouche finding his tackling fuel...

If I did blog about WoW I'd probably do it in an RP/story telling style about the fantasy side of WoW.
I'm not a spreadsheet wizard or anything.
And if I did take that kind of route it'd be able the trials & tribulations of Cogger (Torquehammer), my current Gnome Warrior project and his quest to become a raiding main tank.
Before I became a Gnomist (yes, that's a Gnomish Enthusiast - I guess), I was a By The Light! Paladin. Although it's altogether a too worn story and my lack of attention to want to write has hindered my desire to write a WoW based blog.

"Gnomist." I like that. Been looking for a term for years to describe myself. Gnome-o-phile just makes it sound dirty.
Jamie Sep 16th 2011 8:45AM
Y'like that, eh Krotzer? Well perhaps for my brain poking trivia. I would say...
What homophone would both describe the nomadic ways of the Taurens and also describe a person who is particularly interested in said race.
...

...
Give up? Quite clearly it's a Taurist! *guffaw*
I say, what a whimsical treat that was to divulge to you all!

So weird. I blog about WoW. And today I mentioned the Breakfast Topic!! And now you've asked about blogging. Our worlds have collided!! I write about being a new tank, rather scared, sometimes inept (ok pretty much always inept) and the fun I have (plus some marital disputes thrown in because it's cheaper than a marriage guidance counsellor!).

Based on your current armory profile, at 45, you are using 3 mail pieces and 3 int/spellpower pieces, including the shield. The main hand weapon is an agi weapon.
You berated your husband for not casting Hand of Protection on you. So...as the tank, you want your aggro wiped and to not be able to attack physically? It also causes Forebearance, which prevents you from using Lay on Hands for the next 60 secs, in case you get an "Oh shit!" moment, which, if you're asking for Hand of Protection, you probably will. And those are just the things that jump out at me from doing a quick look at your armory profile.
So why am I doing this? Because in the one post I read about your tanking exploits, you appeared quick to belittle, mock and blame your husband (your healer) for his shortcomings and for the issues (read: frequent wipes) you were having in your random group. You expect infinite patience from the random group and from your healer, but seem to have little to none for your husband, who is probably also learning his role, as you are. You write about sighing at him and jumping down his throat when he asks a seemingly innocuous question in party chat. ("What happened?") In a word, you seem to ignore to your own shortcomings in order to point out his to deflect blame and for the amusement of your readers.
Granted, I only read the one post and tanking for random groups IS brave. But this is what happens when you put yourself out there in a blog. You can't always expect the "hee hee you go girl" comments. You open yourself up to feedback, good and bad. I don't know you beyond reading a few posts on your blog and have no idea what your husband's gear, talents, addons, etc., are like. But speaking as an endgame paladin healer/tank, a fellow blogger, and a husband, I think you are all too ready to lay blame on your husband and haven't taken a good, hard, critical look at your character...or your real life behavior.
And to anyone who wants to downrate me: Go ahead. Downrate me into oblivion. But do yourself a favor and read the blog first. You may have an "Oh..." moment.

didnt check armory but read her blogpost. bravo for opting to go solo! it's a given that you cant depend on your buddies all the time. you gotta mix it up with others, good, bad or just plain ugly!
while you can tank better with perfect gear, etc, you can also tank in less ideal gear, which is usually the case. i have taken my L80 warrior tank into LFG while still having lots of pre-cata gear (the alt never did cata quests. just kept idle until i found/made enuf cata tanking plate gear to get to the minimum required gear level in order to queue for cata LFG)
however, it is the tank's responsibility to ensure his self buff is the best for tanking. hence, dev should be cast by the tank even if another pally is in the group. dont depend on others, make sure you have the right self buffs on.
the reason the dungeon run was so bad was cos the party just didnt run together as a group. which is really REALLY rare. even if someone enters a dungeon for the first time, they wouldnt just go off on their own, they would stick around and follow whoever moves first. so i would just chalk that off as a fire and forget event. most dungeon runs will be ok even if there are a couple of wipes here and there (for example, tank or healer dc).

Here's a blogging tip from one prospective blogger, and I don't mean this in a derisive way:
Make sure you know how to spell, especially simple words like "a lot"

I am a dad who misses being able to game. Where can I find your husbands blog?
MattKrotzer Sep 16th 2011 8:14AM
I blog about WoW, a little.
It's been reported (but not confirmed) that I write everything you read on WoW Insider, with the exception of the "Fox Van Allen" articles.
On a serious note, I'm not sure it really counts as "blogging" but I do make frequent and sometimes lengthy comments about my opinions concerning WoW on this site. So in that manner, I suppose I blog frequently about WoW.
I've also had a few Breakfast Topics published here, so I'm certain that counts. I have a mostly-neglected blog about RP fashions in WoW (Oh man, it's been over a year since I posted anything) called the Fashionable Gnome's Guide to Fashion. http://bit.ly/cOMxT9
As I try to get back into drawing more, I'm considering a blog for my drawings. We'll see where that goes.
