Hey, McCurly, do we know if they're still dropping tokens for shoulders/helms in raid finder? I'm going to be seriously pissed if not.

Highly doubt there's going to be current-iLevel tokens dropped for LFR (Looking For Raid) queues. If the iLevel of rewards is going to be lower, then there's no real reason to make the tier drops equal to what people coordinating raids on their own server.
Or more simply; why devaluate all of the gear but tier?

That is...beyond frustrating. I WANT to raid, but without a set schedule I can't commit to a guild that does, and nobody on my server PuGs raids ever. I just want my stupid tier 11 set, it shouldn't be that hard.

.I've been personally weighing the pros and cons of the system. It really boils down to how Blizzard wants to handle raids in 4.3 and 5.0.
I would like to see the ability to simply buy all of my pieces of tier from the Valor vendor, without worry or chance drops interfering with my gearing. I would be fine with the ability to both turn in a tier token AND buy my Shoulder/Gloves for an inflated price (compared to my Chest/Leggings).
Currently though, I fear we're just going to see the three iLevel tiers of gear per raid;
- 353, Zandalari Heroics and (projected) Looking For Raid system.
- 359, Normal Mode for t11.
- 372, Heroic Mode for t11.
- 372, (projected) LFR t12.
- 378, t12 Normal Mode.
- 391, t12 Heroic Mode.
391 - (projected) LRF t13.
397 - (projected) t13 Normal Mode
410 - (projected) t13 Heroic Mode

My experience in 5 man random dungeons tells me that for a raid to be doable by 25 random single serving e-friends, the content will have to be nerfed so far down into the ground that the drops have to be almost cosmetic gear. I don't even raid, but I'll be insulted on raiders' behalf if tier gear as we know it is dropping out of these things. It seems much more likely to me that the random raids will simply be the place to go to max out our weekly Justice Point gain.

Why is it alright for the WoW art team to go off and create tier sets that are unrelated to the raid they come from? Long ago they used to design tier sets on the class they were for but they stopped because they wanted gear to represent the raid they drop from as a symbol of your character's progression. They said that, not the fans. I liked the paladin sets when they were based off the class, not the raid. Anyways...
They release a warrior set that matches what they have been doing(tier set matches raid). But then they release a warlock set that looks like a squid but is said to be inspired after the second to last boss in Ulduar. Then they base the mage tier off of ...gnome culture?
Not only are they not following their "tier set matches the raid philosophy" but they aren't even following their old "tier set matches class philosophy" (paladins - judgement, warlocks dreadmist, etc).
It is inconsistent. There is a major disconnect between what we are being told and what is being given.
