Patch 4.3: Blizzard's official preview of the Hour of Twilight heroic dungeon

The last of patch 4.3's time-traveling dungeons now has a preview available on the official website. The Hour of Twilight takes place in present-day Azeroth, where the Twilight's Hammer is putting on a full-scale invasion of Dragonblight. Why Dragonblight? Because that is where the ultimate showdown with Deathwing will begin -- and the Dragon Soul plays a key part in taking the former Aspect of Earth down.
Included with the preview are some unsettling images of Wyrmrest Temple crawling with the tentacles of Old God minions, as well as some shots of the surrounding areas. There are three bosses mentioned with the preview: Arcurion, a formidable water ascendant who is tasked with killing Thrall; Asria Dawnslayer, a deadly agent of the Twilight's Hammer; and a third face who should be instantly recognizable to Alliance players. If you want to avoid spoiler content, I'd avoid the preview, but the third boss is a shock for those familiar with him in game so far.
Did we mention Thrall? That's right, he's there too, and players must escort him and the Dragon Soul safely to Wyrmrest Temple. I'm having flashbacks to CoT: Durnholde Keep, but they are good flashbacks. From the looks of things, these events tie directly into Thrall: Twilight of the Aspects; those who are wanting to know more about the events in Hour of Twilight should check out that novel.
All in all, it looks like the three dungeons are similar to the last three dungeons of Wrath of the Lich King. They tie into the final raid encounter in a crucial way, and the story is interlocked between all three dungeons. Check out the official website for the full preview, plenty of images, and more boss information.
Brace yourselves for what could be some of most exciting updates to the game recently with patch 4.3. Look at what's ahead: new item storage options, cross-realm raiding, cosmetic armor skinning and your chance to battle the mighty Deathwing -- from astride his back!

The whole set of dungeons has far surpassed my expectations. I was thinking far too small in my theories of what the 5-mans would entail. These objectives and locations are all super grand in scope.

Your pathetic expectionations... BEEETRRRRRAAAAAAYS YOU!!!!
Jamie Sep 19th 2011 6:39PM
expectionations? Wow... someone is browsing with their spellchecker off. Firefox will be hearing from my disgruntlementation.
Hellwraith Sep 19th 2011 6:45PM
I agree. This simply blew my mind, mixing the old and new lore, the objectives, the direction that it's taking, the role that players are having, and of course the reality tv-style villains revelations has been amazing.
The only thing I would really like is for Blizzard to not completely destroy the Infinite Dragonflight; I ended up liking their meddeling after all, and as I said before, it would be awesome to have them appear on the game in a future time. Oh yeah, I said it :P

Zarhym just confirmed that the raid preview is also coming this evening. I'm guessing in a little over 2 hours. Can't wait to see what they've got lined up there.

If you thought Blizzard was just going to lay down and hand over the reigns to Bioware, you were sadly mistaken.
Dear WOW Haters, ain't nothing dead about this game!

The first two dungeons look great to me, the third one I'm not sure on. I'm not a fan of Thrall anyway, but escorting anyone through a dungeon could be one of the most tedious things ever...
We'll see though.

Oh, well, in that case, sir, I hope you will not object if I also offer the Doctor my most enthusiastic contrafribblarities.
Lemons Sep 19th 2011 6:33PM
Hopefully Thrall will be bringing back his signature catch phrase: I did not ask for this!
(cutaia) Sep 19th 2011 6:35PM
I thought his new catchphrase was, "WE ARE PATIENT!"
Scott Sep 19th 2011 6:36PM
Shhhh!! I'm trying to think....
Jamie Sep 19th 2011 6:41PM
His catchphrase for me will always, "lol, you sucks... why cantz you one hit dethwing while I cast stuff on him." When we were fighting over the Maelstrom.
I understand many people have moved on and I'm sure Thrall is okay dude and all, but I've not moved on. Count your days Thrall for I have numbered them for you!! ... IN NUMERICAL ORDER!!! MWHAHAHAHAAHA

Cutaia did NOT just say that!
Bellajtok Sep 19th 2011 7:11PM
Personally, I loved "CAIRNE WAS MY BROTHER!" That moment made the questline for me. Also, "Oh, don't you tell me to be patient, you green-skinned..."
Sleutel Sep 19th 2011 7:44PM
@Jamie:
Apparently you missed it during the quest: that wasn't Thrall. That was a false projection made to mess with your head. Apparently it worked. :D
Sidone Sep 19th 2011 6:37PM
prepare to farm your 365 trinkets folks. brewfast is here!
question, sell new tankadin of terror or save for transmorf?
Amanda A. Sep 19th 2011 7:54PM
Sell it to me for future use? *eyes baby shaman*
Sergel Sep 19th 2011 6:40PM
oh god why don't i have a lvl 85 toon yet?!
Mperiolat Sep 19th 2011 8:02PM
Trust me, being an 85 does NOT prepare you for the raids. I've been struggling with my toon through Cata Heroics and I suck at them. If I cannot handle Heroics or Trolls OR Cata raids, this stuff is going to eat my lunch, call it delicious and call for seconds.
Sergel Sep 19th 2011 8:12PM
I know but at least i could start getting ready. I have a lvl 80 DK but i don't like him much, so i went with my shaman, who's only level 60 =(
