We occasionally see videos that celebrate the graphics, art, and the beautiful atmosphere of World of Warcraft. After all, the game has some truly astounding landscapes and incredible views; it makes sense to pay that side of the game a little homage. While I could ramble on about The Beauty of WoW Pt II, I think I'll just quote Miselain, the creator:
The videos are actually based on the look and feel of World of Warcraft. I try to take things out of game and throw it into a video to show people the actual true beauty of a game, that maybe some don't even bother looking at because their too busy questing/raiding/pvping, etc; Or maybe because a few handful of people just don't actually see what's really beautiful about it. The video editing is basic and simple with some color corrections, etc; I try not to do anything extravagant with the videos, as I try to keep the feel of the video the same as what you would see in game.
If you like this video, check out the first installment as well. Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! Have suggestions for machinima we ought to feature? Toss us an email at moviewatch@wowinsider.com.
Everything in WoW looks horrible close up, at least if you're used to more modern games (or for that matter, state-of-the-art for 2005 games). Well, "horrible" is too strong a word. It's beautiful for the resolution, it's just painfully low-res if you're used to other games.
I'm going to quote a line from the Skyrim demos: "That mountain over in the distance? That's not part of the background, you can climb that mountain."
Flying mounts may appear to take away from the game's hugeness, but they make up for it with the little details. Everything can be seen, up close or far away, and Blizzard keeps it looking pretty and atmospheric. I mean, I hate Borean Tundra simply from leveling 3 or 4 alts through it, but this video captures it so nicely I almost want to go back.
It looks as if people like the first one better than the second. I actually like it more, for many reasons. I'm glad you all enjoyed both. Or maybe just one. I will continue to do these videos as requested by my subscribers and continue to capture the nostalgia of the game. Thank you all for your wonderful comments. :)

Seeing all this just reminds me how painfully out of place are the old player models in Northrend and Cata content :(

Really nice, the only thing I disliked was the red drakes.. they look horrible up close. >.<
I'm tempted to link this to a few non wow playing friends, I'm sure it would convert them.
Great job Miselain.

I love videos like these. They remind a jaded gamer like me why they fell in love with the game 4+ years later.
The vast, expansive beauty that makes up the world...of warcraft is what made me love this game all those years ago.
