Breakfast Topic: What are your plans for Brewfest?

Brewfest 2011 is finally here! It's a magical in-game holiday dedicated to the fine art of getting drunk. There are achievements to be had, special holiday mounts, and Coren Direbrew, a holiday boss with a new-for-2011 loot table filled with i365 trinkets. Better yet, it's an excuse to drink pint after pint after pint! So what if it's not noon yet? It's a holiday -- get off my back.

Brewfest 2011 runs from today until Oct. 5, so you have a lot of time to enjoy all the holiday has to offer. (For more on Brewfest, check out Alison's Guide to Brewfest 2011.) What are you planning on getting done in the next two weeks? Are you heading in to Blackrock Depths to take on Direbrew? Or is this just another boring, skippable in-game holiday?

He is mentioning wanting strength on them because he plans to use the graphic of the mug itself on other 1handed maces, nothing to do with actually changing stats.

Yep, exactly Narshe. My hope is that this won't be on the blacklist. Love to be wielding these but not have the AGI stat on them. So I'd just transmog the stats of another weapon into the graphic.

My main (a dwarf) got the meta last year, but my dwarf DK needs it this year. A dwarf without the "Brewmaster" title is just sad. Plus, I've decided all of my toons need Brewfest hats.

365 gear and awesome mounts (come on, ram!) on Direbrew is just more delicious icing on the cake.

I got the kodo on my paladin which gave me my 50th mount (have been sitting on 49 since end of WotLK). And I couldn't do anything on my shaman because I got home just before shut down.. :( not happy with blizz

After checking the Realm Status thread on the forums to see if there was downtime today - and seeing none! I have been giddy all day waiting for Brewfest. Just got home from work with a couple of beers (10 PM here), tankard in hand...to see downtime.

And, also, there has been speculation that either 83 or 84 would be required to queue for Coren. I've recently been leveling a Rogue (Going casual, too - no heirlooms, questing every where...) and just got him to 83.5.

So double-bummer for me today.

But I will have him to 84, and running Brewfest on two of my mains!

Got my title last year, so this year it's just farming for the Brewfest ram and any gear that would be an upgrade (got the Kodo last year). Otherwise, just going to observe the debauchery from afar.

Meh. I'll kill Direbrew on my alt until I get the trinket, then ignore it. I got the cheeves on my main and I don't really feel like grinding them on an alt. I've got 3 or 4 of last year's tankards knocking around my bank alt's vault if I ever feel the need to transmog. And I have the ram, don't care about the kodo. So I'm good.

It's my 21st birthday today, so I'm making up for being teetotal by getting all of my characters completely smashed at the Brewfest area outside Orgrimmar.

Also going to hunt for the ram on my hunter! But she's already a Brewmaster, so I don't have many goals this year.

My least favorite holiday, but I will be doing the boss for a chance at the mounts. My main did finally get the mounts last year, and did all the achievement stuff the first year round, but the rest of my troop are eager and ready for their chance. I just really wish I could get the headless horseman's reins. I have run that every. single. year. since it came out, and it hasn't dropped at all. Very frustrating, since I always have several characters who try for it.

Well I'm a tank so I should be instant in and it's a tank fight so I'm looking forward to running it 10^10 times to get the trinkets and the rare mount for my mountain of mounts achievement.

I'm also a homebrewer in RL so I'm gonna do the beer of the month just for grins. I hope the dwarves have a nice Imperial Stout....

After four consecutive years of failing to get a Brewfest Ram (1 year on Alliance, 3 years on Horde), the combination of this holiday and the early Cata raiding scene drove me to quit WoW. All I wanted was a ram for my Horde, but I never was able to get one. I watched all my friends get one, but there was no love for me.

It's going to be nice to actually be in a good mood during the fall for once.

I should probably clarify ... I've never gotten a mount drop; neither from the boss in the old way or from the bag in the new way (or from the tickets from the first year either). I've gotten all the trinkets, a couple of the weapons, but never the Ram nor the Kodo. And I've had no less than 3 max level characters through most of my career, all running Coren Direbrew religiously during the holiday.

You can say that I'm a tad bitter over it ... and you would be wildly understating my hatred for the Brewfest Ram.

Yes - I'm the same way. All my friends got multiple rams and kodos and horseman's mount on every alt they own yet I can never get a single one on any alt. I truly believe that some accounts have higher odds of winning rare mounts and others have very low odds. My account just cant win.
