- He also gave up the scoop on epic gems and the secrets of the Deathwing encounter.
- Blizzard then posted previews of the new 5-man dungeons. First, we'll travel to the End Time, then to the far past of the War of the Ancients, and finally to Wyrmrest Accord in the present day to strike a blow against Deathwing.

There's a lot of cool non-patch news to peruse as well. Downtime this morning is from 3 a.m. to 11 a.m. PDT, so you'll have plenty of time to get caught up. Be sure to stay tuned as well. I just want the nerf news
slim1256 Sep 20th 2011 8:53AM
Oh - definitely this.
How heavy are they swinging the nerfbat in the Firelands? Inquiring minds want to know.

Thinking about it, on some levels, our characters really are the Rory Williams of the WoW universe.
Brief moments of putting on the really cool armor and kicking butt, off set by dying repeatedly and occasionally by erased from existance.

And the glory is often stolen by other characters more integral to the plot.
But as I said a few days ago, I'd rather be the companion to The Doctor than the Short Round to Doctor Jones.

Doctor Who + WoW in the same article, I cannot begin to express my enjoyment. Anyway, I'm psyched about the 4.3 dungeons but I'm curious from a lore stand point how they are going to fix the ensuring paradox's that are to come as a result of us mucking with time.

Does that make Alliance toons River Song? You know since [REDACTED for possible spoilers, just to be nice].
If it came down to it, I'd really not mind being Amy Pond. I'd look cute in a kissogram costume.
alynara Sep 20th 2011 7:30AM
I'm sure it isn't the last we see of Rory :)
David Sep 20th 2011 6:57AM
Most companions leave the TARDIS with their lives irrevocably changed, and not always for the better. Rory left with an awesome new car.
If you're not a fan of Rory Williams is the New Chuck Norris on Facebook yet you really should be.

Get used to Time Travel. They're rapidly running out of new Continents to introduce for expansions, and they just remade the ones they already have...
I'd bet dollars to donuts the next expansion is Time Travel based.
Shinae Sep 20th 2011 10:31AM
Yet, I heard that there's this place called Pandaria... ;)
Seriously, there are plenty of islands left to explore on Azeroth. And I really don't mind the time travel. I've been wanting to see the Well of Eternity for years!

i would have loved to see an NPC called The Healer, or The Dr. for this expansion that takes us in a blue outhouse to the new 5 mans and aids us with his sonic wand, while traveling with two human compainions Amy Ocean, and Wory Rilliams
Darkseid Sep 20th 2011 10:47AM
Time travel is usually the last gasp of writers who are out of ideas. Hopefully this isn't the case here and it turns out to be cool. But all this screwing around in the past with the sub-text of 'these horrific events must come to pass no matter what' kinda leaves me with the 'whats the point then' feeling.
But we'll see. If nothing else, at least we'll get to visit some cool locals.
smbcomix Sep 20th 2011 10:53AM
Technically we already have a TARDIS in-game -- the bronze drake from Culling of Stratholme. And we have a sonic screwdriver -- the Ultrasonic Screwdriver from that quest in Borean Tundra. And while the Ultrasonic Screwdriver is returned to its owner at the end of the quest, any good RP'er who happens to be a gnome or KNOW a gnome could have another one made for them IC'ly.
Yeah that's right. I'm a Time Lord now. Time Lords... *puts on sunglasses, straightens bow tie* ...are cool.
RuzGofDI Sep 20th 2011 11:10AM
Chromie.
A bronze dragon that takes on the disguise of a gnome.
"She's bigger on the inside."
GuyverIV Sep 20th 2011 11:32AM
Why are we talking about time travel, and a patch that hasn't even hit the PTR in our present yet? There's Brew to be Fested!
C'mon, off to other threads, here we go, nothing else to see here, come along, Pond!
jason_1975 Sep 20th 2011 12:00PM
But I want to be Rory!!! That scene of him in "A Good Man Goes to War" standing on the cyberman ship is one of the best in all of science fiction. "Do you want me to repeat the question?"
lordtrollingsworth Sep 20th 2011 5:45PM
Best, juveniley melodramatic, same difference eh.
RetPallyJil Sep 20th 2011 12:14PM
I get to be Leela!!!!
Sorcha Sep 20th 2011 3:16PM
I'm calling Donna.
