Agreed... Also, one could just look at their character's Armory Page > Companions & Mounts > Not Collected > Show Advanced Filter (in my case: no TCG or Blizz Pet Store) > See the list.
And don't forget the Collectme-addon to check ingame what you lack and where to get it.

Then again, this can be done for mounts too and somehow we still had weeks of mount gathering description. So we might see a few weeks of where to buy Roaches, how to get Plumpy the Turkey and what to do for Perky Pug anyways.
