Breakfast Topic: What will you be wearing the first day of transmogrification?

Since the announcement of the new transmogrification system in patch 4.3, I've been thinking a lot about what sets I'd like to collect for my character. My main is a Blood Elf paladin, so naturally I've been grabbing a friend to blaze through Blackwing Lair once a week to finish off my Judgement set. However, I am certain on day one of the update, Azeroth will be filled with pallies rocking the same duds.
How can a fashionable Sin'dorei stand out in the crowd? I did some research online and have been reminded of a number of great sets that aren't raid tier but look just as good. I finally settled on the very blood-knightish Red Lawbringer (at least for my retribution gear set), easily farmed out of various Burning Crusade regular and heroic dungeons. As for my alt death knight, I've been traveling to Dalaran weekly to spend his excess justice points on tier 10, because (as I'm sure we can all agree) there aren't many things in this world more wicked-looking than a Worgen in Scourgelord Battlegear!
What gear will you be wearing on patch day? Are you collecting an old tier set (or have you saved a favorite in your bank all this time)? Or are you putting together a more avant-garde look? Will you have different transmog looks for particular gear sets? Or does all this doll-dressing business not interest you in the least?

ah, yes... the canoe head... very famous with Native Americans...

Obviously, you have never faced the challenging tin cans that we have, Darkartist. Putting the opener on the helm allows you maximum leverage while not impeding your ability to dodge incoming fire.
Yeah. Really hostile tin cans. With machine guns.

I'm sure there will be plenty of interesting sets being sported about, but I for one am looking forward to seeing people wearing classic iconic sets, this being the Warcraft universe it will only serve to make the world look more like Warcraft. I think there will be plenty of dynamic set ups in the mix to represent the many individual heroes and mercenaries and footpads and wizards, but it will nice to see paladins looking like they belong to the order of the Silverhand or Kaldorei Sentinels or Orc Blademasters and lovely voodoo loving trolls.
I've been collecting interesting peices of armor on all my alts and characters since 2004, and plan on using color schemes for some and iconic archtypical Warcraft sets for others.

Dungeon Set 1 for my pally tank! Was fortunate enough to farm that and DS 1.5 at the end of LK

I'm going to be different and stick with the current gear i have - mainly because i'm poor.
Lignar Sep 23rd 2011 8:36AM
Yeah, all the folks that are going to customize their toons to be 'unique' are mostly going to end up looking like each other. Warrior T1, Pally T2 etc.
I *was* going to go get the starter DK gear from the revamped Dark Moon Fair, but then realized so is every other DK.

At first I was hesitant to go with either the red or blue Bloodfang on my rogue, because every rogue and their mother will be wearing it.
Then I remembered that I don't care and I'll be wearing it anyway because I like it.

Amen. I collected purple Judgement for my pally, despite hearing from everyone that all pallies will probably be wearing judgement of some kind. That was about my answer too - who cares, I like it, it's my toon and that's what makes me happy. I don't need to be a special snowflake to be happy with how my girl looks.

There are people who will be transmogging their gear because they really like the look, and there are people who will be transmogging their gear because they want to be different. If everyone transmogs their gear to Bloodfang, then the Bloodfang set, however good-looking, will lose its appeal on some players which might then consider other sets. After a while, the supply and demand will balance itself out, kinda like how price is determined in the AH and stabilizes after a while, even if it swings wildly in the first few days of a patch / expansion.

As a Tauren druid, I'll be sporting the crimson and grey recolor of Bloodfang from Karazhan...
Have you _seen_ those shoulders on a Tauren?

I'm going to proudly wear and show off my gorgeous Tier 12 priest armour! :-)

Nothing...nothing at all ;D.

hey that was going to be my answer....oh well

It feels like I'm wearing nothing at all!

Answer: Same stuff my Troll has RP'd in for years. I'll just finally get a chance to use it in an instance!
My only gripe is I still can't get the robe I want most - need to be a mage to wear it... Also I need to travel back in time and accept a class quest that no longer exists ;)
Shinae Sep 23rd 2011 8:49AM
Which robe from a mage class quest are you talking about? These 2 are obtainable and look like the robes from mage-only quests.
Lesser Spellfire Robe look-alike: http://www.wowhead.com/item=14127
Nether-Lace Robe had red trim but you can get the same model with purple trim with the Twilight Cultist Robe: http://www.wowhead.com/item=20407
I will be changing my troll's T11 to look like ZA/ZG gear. Hopefully, the troll gear won't be so commonly seen with 4.3.
Johnzim Sep 23rd 2011 9:28AM
Yep, Nether-Lace Robe.
Junzim wears a Twilight Cultist Robe - and it looks fine in most lights. But when everything is clear and you zoom in, the purple shines through when it should be red.
An acceptable replacement would also have been the Mage High Warlord's battlegear (the lvl 60 ones) since he wears the Stoneguard Tabard which would cover the front - but he's not a Mage, he's a Priest. You may see a pattern emerging with regards to Mages having the few RP pieces I want! haha!
I think I've used the Ritual Shroud before without it looking quite right but I'll take another look - thanks for the suggestion!
ZA/ZG gear might also be possible - It's just so hard to find anything that looks rugged with relatively little sleeve coverage!
