Phat Loot Phriday: "Brew of the Month" Club Membership Form
Ashenvale creaked as impossibly large trees swayed in the afternoon breeze. The Worgen druid glanced appreciatively at the forest as he rejoined Throgg and Lolegolas.
"The innkeep was surprisingly pudgy for a Night Elf," the druid said. "But he did say a pair of Tauren passed through here recently. He didn't talk to them much, but he did have something interesting to say."
Throgg had started packing his kodo as soon as the druid had started talking. "Useful? Someplace to go?"
"Not exactly," the druid said. He held out a small piece of paper to Lolegolas. The Blood Elf took the paper and grunted.
"I see," the Elf said. "A Brewfest voucher. They were turned away from the Orc's party and are on their way to Ironforge to participate."
"The Tauren claimed they wanted to join the Beer of the Month Club," the druid explained. "Thing is, the Dwarves won't be any more interested in the Grimtotem than the Orcs. No Dwarf is going to mail a Grimtotem an interesting beer each month. It'd be sacrilege, worse than worshipping the Old Gods."
Throgg leaped into his saddle. "Lying. The Grimtotem were using it as a cover story for why they're chasing the girl through Elf lands. We have a trail we can follow. It's time to ride like the win, fellows."

@Natsumi:
Google fail. That link is the top hit for "Riding like the wind" which google searched for thinking you wanted if you typed "Riding like the win"

@icepyro
Listening fail! Christopher Cross never once pronounced Wind correctly.

"Ride like the win"
Please don't fix it. It sounds so great.
Michael Gray Sep 23rd 2011 1:13PM
I don't usually comment on this kind of thing, but I wanted to assure everyone: "like the win" is intended exactly as written.
Jeff Sep 23rd 2011 1:14PM
And now I look like a fool!
Michael Gray Sep 23rd 2011 1:15PM
No! More like "in tune," yo!
justacronk Sep 23rd 2011 1:50PM
You, sir, have just made my day.
GuyverIV Sep 23rd 2011 3:44PM
I now have a new phrase that I must find a way to work into a proper conversation.
For this, I thank you Mr. Gray.

"It's time to ride like the win, fellows."
Best typo of the day.

The membership only lasts one year though, right? I was hoping the article would answer this. I've been wondering ever since Brewfest started.
Natsumi Sep 23rd 2011 2:19PM
It used to, but recently, my main (who completed the Brewfest Meta-Achievement the first year it was available) recently started receiving beer in the mail. Not that I am ever going to complain about free alcohol........
Angus Sep 23rd 2011 2:57PM
My BElf got it the first year and did not get any brews the next.
1 year is correct.
Joseph Smith Sep 24th 2011 12:51PM
My druid and hunter both got it in the first year (wanted to get a jump on the achievement system). It lasted a year and then stopped. Since, I think 4.1 they've both started regularly receiving their brews in the mail every month again.

Just FYI to other comments:
"Brew of the Month" achievement is awarded for JOINING the BotM club (turning the form in to the proper NPC). After this, you'll get an in-game mail congratulating you for joining, and you will receive one alcoholic beverage per month for the next year.
After the year is up, no more freebies unless you re-join (for another 200 tokens)
After you actually DRINK the 12 free beverages, you get the "Brew of the Year" achievement (10 points), which is NOT required for the meta (Brewmaster and What a Long, Strange Trip it's Been).
I was AFK for the earlier part of this year, so i missed four or five of the beers, and i'm re-joining this year (kicks self in head). The mailed drinks follow the same rules as all mail, deleted after 30 days.
Natsumi Sep 23rd 2011 2:22PM
Not to contradict you, but I completed my Brew of the year way back at the beginning of Wrath and for the last few months I have been receiving Brewfest Beer in the mail. While what you say was indeed true as of last year, Blizzard MAY have changed their policy on the Brew of the Month Club, perhaps a question on the official forums would elicit a 'blue" response with a definitive answer.

I'm going off of wowhead commenters that say the brews stopped after one year.
