WRUP: A small stuffed animal and interesting pieces of jewelry
If you'll allow me a moment to fabricate an email from a fan, I offer you this forgery:
Good question, female reader I just made up. You're probably just a [redacted], and men don't need that. Thankfully, though, you can be fixed by being something you're not. No more lonely nights watching a rerun of Dallas with a pint of ice cream!Dear Fox,
I read last week's WRUP about how to find a the lady of your dreams at BlizzCon. That's all well and good for the men in your audience, but I'm a lady myself! How do I find true love at a convention filled with nerds?
Remember, men really love their sports teams. Now, since you're female, you're prevented from knowing anything about sports at all because that section of your brain is loaded with all sorts of information about lipstick or whatever. So at least learn about an attractive sports player, since we're pretty sure a woman of the '80s like you can handle at least that. So yeah, how about Brady Quinn, am I right? Wait, does he even still play? I don't follow sports, you understand. I just follow players I find attractive.
Anyway. If you're one of those people in this town who could really use good news, this is your lucky day. WRUP is just past the break, and there are plenty of eligible men waiting for you! Let's tap that gold mine!
Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey) I'll be writing up a storm this weekend and raiding in the newly nerfed content -- which, incidentally, feels a little weird. As for patch 4.3 -- I ... can't decide. I am really, really, really looking forward to the Deathwing encounter because it sounds like it's going to be really fun, and I'm also looking forward to the 5-mans because going back in time to see the War of the Ancients is just going to be awesome. And transmogging is going to be amazing. And void storage means I'll get a lot of bank space back. I mean, patch 4.3 is just going to be a field day of "DO ALL THE THINGS NOW NOW NOW" for a few days until I settle down, I expect.
Basil Berntsen (@outdps) @FrostheimWHU and I will be live podcasting the 100th episode of our hunter podcast with @thebrewhall in beautiful, scenic downtown Minnesota! It's a nice place to live, but you wouldn't want to visit there. Unless you're doing the most awesome episode of a podcast in the history of awesome episodes.
Daniel Whitcomb (@danielwhitcomb) I think I want to finish up Brew of the Year this year, so I'll at least be doing Brewfest dailies long enough to get the tokens for that. As far as patch 4.3 goes, I am still all about the transmogging. I have wanted to play fancy dressup with my armor for freakin' years. Let me look awesome on my terms, damn it. Other than that, I also have a couple of alts in the low 70s, so I'm looking forward to leveling them to 85 even sooner.
Fox Van Allen (@foxvanallen) (gplus.to/foxvanallen) More Disgaea 2. Grinding is the best! If you're at a Boston Sports Club and see some spectacularly hot guy on a recumbent exercise bike fiddling with a PSP, that's me! Patch 4.3: I'm actually not really looking forward to it. I mean, transmogrification is neat, but I can't transmogrify an invisible chest on my Blood Elf paladin, so what's the point? Also, I'm not sure I want to deal with a new raid tier until I have my legendary. And going back to 12 hours a week worth of raiding? Hmm.
Joe Perez (@Lodurzj) Really excited about Sunday for the Choose My Adventure time. Really looking forward to playing my Troll druid Haemon. Also, I'm hopelessly addicted to Minecraft, so yeah, plenty of that this weekend. For patch 4.3, I'm super-excited for the new 5-mans and raid. You had me at heavily steeped in lore and story that all ties together.
As for 4.3, I think I'm most excited for transmogging. This is weird, since I wasn't really excited for it when it was announced.
Kelly Aarons (@Cadistra) Sadly, I'm stressed and will most likely be working my buns off. I've got my job and tons of artwork to do. I got my Brewfest title and my kodo last year, so I'm not 100% sure if I'll do anything for it. I'll probably poke my snout in, just to see if there's anything super-snazzy. I am crazy-excited for 4.3. I just hope I can actually run the 5-mans, as I'm not really well geared.
Mat McCurley (@gomatgo) (gplus.to/gomatgo) I've got a full weekend of video game playing ahead of me with World of Warcraft fun, Xbox shenanigans, and more. I am also doing my best to relax and get ready for the week ahead. As for the new info, I absolutely love the aesthetics of the new 5-man instances. I am so excited for them.
Matt Rossi (@MatthewWRossi) I remember when I was a child, just 10 or 11, my father and I would drive up and down the 1,500 yards of the grass air strip on the property and carefully paint all the rocks that were above the surface of the earth bright yellow so that any airplane that might try to land there would see them and not accidentally hit one while landing. It was possible for landing gear to roll right over these rocks, as they were not very large and the vast majority were just flat stones a couple of feet across or so. There were between 50 and 60 such stones that we would each paint with the reflective golden spray paint, taking most of the day to make sure to get them all.
It was long, hot, boring work. I feel much the same way about Brewfest, and I refuse to do it. This weekend, I'll be doing anything else. I expect I may just read some Tim Powers.
As for patch 4.3, I'm very excited for the new 5-mans and the raid. I want to see Deathwing's demise.
Matt Walsh (@Rhidach) Mostly an unhealthy amount of Minecraft on my guild's SMP server. I'll get a few bouts of Swords of the Stars in with some friends as well, to break up all the digging. I'm really excited about the raid and dungeon content, but I think I'm most excited about transmogging and being able to sport either Judgement or Lightbringer tier in raids. Not sure which one I'll be sporting most of the time, though ...
Tyler Caraway (@murmursofadruid) For the most part, I plan on having a rather quiet weekend, maybe going out with a few friends but nothing more. There's some light raiding to be done along with catching up on some Diablo 2 action, unless Blizzard finds it in their heart to give me a Diablo 3 beta pass. I got an expansion for Two Worlds 2, so I might check that out; apparently it has pirates. As for 4.3, the new raid of course! I get to jump onto Deathwing's back; it's gonna be awesome.

I've recently discovered Creative Mode in Minecraft. It's so much fun building huge blocks of TNT and then blowing them up. So far I'm still just making massive craters in the landscape, which is more destructive than creative.
Aside from that I'm running Coren Direbrew on my 85s - hoping for the dagger on my rogues - but I got the title on all the toons I want it on last year, so I'm not really bothering with it much.

Minecraft!
My current project involves replicating an Allen-Bradley PLC with piston circuits.
Sooooo much more fun and educational than WoW. My daughter used to ask me what her spell rotation should be. Now she asks me about logic gates.

Instruct your fictitious female reader to follow Derek Rose. He can ball out. Plus he was the NBA MVP last year. ;)

"Now, since you're female, you're prevented from knowing anything about sports at all because that section of your brain is loaded with all sorts of information about lipstick or whatever."
I find this hilarious, not only because I know it's satirical, but because the women I work with know so damn much more about sports than I do. They have teams they follow, while my contribution to those conversations is "Oh, is it football season or something?" There's been talk about having a sports jersey day at work, which I've stated means I get to wear a WoW shirt instead.
So my question for WRUP is this: which shirt should I wear? Healer logo, "Dalaran University", or Legendary Mage? That last one has the added benefit of people asking me all day why there's a sheep on my shirt.

@MusedMoose
I'd go with Dalaran U or Legendary mage. At least with Dal U, you'll have a nice conversation about what your major was in.
Shade Sep 23rd 2011 10:52PM
Also, if you go with Dal U, you can one-up any recounts of amazing Hail Marys with "That's cool and all, but Dal U gets a touchdown every play."
31/0/10, Glyph of Blink+Invisibility+Slow. I can't believe I just spent 10 minutes laying this all out.

I'll be building Frank Lloyd Wright-esque houses in Minecraft.
Maybe I'll kill a drunken Dwarf a time or two.

Watching all my guildies waste 2 and 3 brew kodos and rams while all my alts get jack (and not even daniels) for the 4th year in a row. :p No seriously, RNG is a plot by the old gods themselves.
My Minecraft server deleted all my progress 4 times with all these stupid updates, so I'm mad at it right now. That, and right after I got used to creepers, angry endermen scare the crap out of me.
Hopefully I can get my order in for a decent new machine this weekend. I love you, SK, but you're just not cutting it anymore. You shouldn't wheezing over trying to run Minecraft (Java was also created by the old gods.)

Diablo 2...I can't stand to play that game for more than a couple hours now. STAY AWHILE, AND DO THE THINGS YOU'VE DONE 40 MILLION TIMES ONCE MORE! No thanks, Deckard Cain.
I think his voice haunts me in those dreams that I never remember. MAYBE CAIN IS WHY IM ALWAYS TIRED NOOOO
Drakkenfyre Sep 24th 2011 2:32AM
You ever hear him rap?

I am totally serious. That was a little joke back in the day.
ukdude Sep 24th 2011 10:19AM
Yes, and Deckard Cain sound file prank calls. Oh so glorious. Might need to do it in vent someday
