Patch 4.3: New spectral windrider and gryphon mounts

We have no idea where they will be available or when, but if I had to take an educated guess, I would think they are patch 4.3 Darkmoon Island rewards of some kind. Take a look at the screenshots in our gallery.

Dear blizz, please make the wyvern model not look worse than the WC3 ones before you make more wyvern mounts.

Yep. Was about to say, not even making them spectral can make a windrider look good.

WoW wyverns look as bad as old tauren cat form to me. Since I don't have one of the store mounts, my toons either get a profession that has a mount or eagerly look forward to getting welfare drakes from Culling of Stratholme.

and it's not only that they look absolutely horrible, it's how they run on the ground that disturbs me profoundly. I bought the Sparkle Pony when it came out just so me alts didn't have to fly on that thing. I hope they get an overhaul someday, maybe look like the windrider pet. There's a reason tauren where laughed at before cat forms where changed D:

Tauren cat model was pretty much same model without wings..or wyrven was cat model with wings. Same thing in any case..
Also to nitpick. These are not spectral. Spectral is when they are blue like made out of glass. Spectral wolf and Spectral tigers are see-thro-blue with shiny stuff. These are essentially using GHOST effect not spectral one.
I dont really take these seriously but what I hate about these is that they are first of all armorless. Armorless wyrven looks horrible. Secondly they are pretty much same models with slapped premade old "ghost effect" on whatever 3D program they use. But then again, "just another mount". I dont see many people using these however. They are just +1 to collections like gilnean mounts =/ just data on the list..

Tref, that is exactly why I bought the sparkle poney too. I didn't have 5k gold to shell out for all my alts to ride around on a non awful looking mount.

I play alliance and I think the wyvern looks pretty cool. The spectral one looks pretty amazing and so does the gryphon. They probably reskinned the winged guardian as it has wyvern and gryphon characteristics. Hoping 4.3 comes out before Blizzcon but realistically, probably looking at mid Nov. or early Dec.

"Well, that's like your opinion, man." I didn't know there was a magistrate on "spectral". To me spectral means, "Ghostlike" or see thru. Those appear to be both.

Maybe we'll be able to ignore the gryphon's out-dated form if it's transparent enough. But I'd still rather ride other mounts.

Yes. I have the spectral horse from Tol Barad and it goes well with a frost mage. I wanted a gryphon for my dwarf shaman and this will be perfect. I tend to try and use only one flyer and one ground mount per toon (more so I don't get bored as I have lots of alts).

I agree - the novelty has worn off and now I just hate the look of a sparkle mount.
Would much rather ride around on my raid achieve mounts b/c I can show that I got them when it was relevant content.
