The Queue: Dollars to donuts

Besides being a fun phrase to use, "dollars to donuts" is also a regular conversion I make at the Donut Star down the road.
Hal asked:
Any idea why the tuning on the new Brewfest trinkets is so odd? I'm specifically thinking of the stamina trinkets, which are both ilvl 365, but objectively worse than other similar trinkets.
The Brewfest trinkets drop off of a boss that you can kill an unlimited number of times per day. It would be a little bit silly to have them be truly comparable to items that require you to kill raid bosses.
Chris asked:
Regarding the PvP to PvE transmog question, how would Blizz rationalize allowing this when one of their big defenses against changing forms, colors, etc. has always been that they don't want to change silhouettes because that would not let people recognize other players class/spec/gear lvl? I forget what specifically they addressed with that answer but I do recall it was a blue post. Any thoughts?
The silhouette theory was really about race/faction, not about class. Blizzard's original philosophy was that your gear would indicate how far along you were in progression, but it turned out that didn't really matter anymore once there had been three or four endgames already.
No matter what they're wearing, you can tell the difference between a Tauren and a Draenei. That's what matters.
digitalscribe asked:
I'm sure this has already been discussed elsewhere, but how is item level calculated? Is it strictly what is equipped, or also in the bags on your person? Does this include the items in your bank? Is it slot specific, if I had a 365 str trinket, but 333 int trinket for my off spec in my bag, does that count against me? Thanks in advance!
Commenter loop_not_defined nailed this one:
It counts the highest ilvl item in all your storage - bags and bank - for every given slot, regardless of whether it's useful to you or not. So no, having lower ilvl items won't affect it in any way.Cowboy asked:
Why does wow insider hate pvp. Are you all clickers or something?
Unfortunately, our regular PVP columnist is no longer with us. We're looking on providing you guys with more PVP content as soon as we can.
Morloch-KT asked:
Are you guys sick to death of 90% of your questions being about transmog ever since the feature was first announced?
Just wait until 4.3's release date is announced and we get a dozen identical questions about the VP-to-JP conversion every day. Time is cyclical, friend.
kL asked:
With the release of the new Tier/Raid Finder and specifically the Rogue Legendary, do you think portions of the quests will be achievable in the LFR tool. They have said that items will be of lesser power in the LFR but what are us Rogues with out a decent raiding guild going to? This would also open the item to a bit more casual players. When my group is raiding we tend to be a bit slower but if I could finish somethings in LFR that would allow me to speed up the process.
Blizzard has stated that the legendary daggers will not be available through Raid Finder. It's lockout-free; there's just no way that's happening.
Brighthammer asked:
Question!: Does the author think I will be able to transmog my Arcanite Ripper? And if I can, is there any possibility the on-use effect will be usable on the other weapon?
Yes and no, respectively.

Killik nailed it. Easy/difficult is a state of mind. What is hard for one may be simple for another. What gets me is all those people who dis the 2 mounts that you can purchase. Do you realize how much you "pay" for a mount that you grind for a year for?? You pay it in subs, time, blood/sweat/tears, years of your life, etc.
redwinger_6 Sep 24th 2011 12:24PM
5 keg shaped treasure chests from Direbrew, 5 "no loots." Am I just extremely unlucky, is this normal, or is there a bug?
Melfina Sep 24th 2011 12:32PM
Completely normal. I've run Coren 5 times a day (5 85s) and the vast majority of times I get some justice and the no loot thing.
GeoNik Sep 24th 2011 12:36PM
YMMV:
20 kegs = 2 items + 18 No Loots
Joseph Smith Sep 24th 2011 1:29PM
Sounds about on par with other holiday bosses. It's just strange now that the currency is points rather than badges (which used to be IN the barrel) to see an empty loot when you don't get an item.
redwinger_6 Sep 24th 2011 1:33PM
I don't remember seeing so many kegs without something in them last year. Maybe I was just extra lucky.
VioletArrows Sep 24th 2011 2:03PM
All I've gotten is a Direbrew remote that I've got a mind to throw out out of spite. It's the first thing I've gotten from a holiday box since *last year*.
ladygamertn Sep 24th 2011 2:05PM
Oddly, on my first run with my warlock, I got the mount, the tankard, the shanker and a trinket. Since then, nada on like 5 toons... I think I used up my RND luck on one toon.
Noyou Sep 24th 2011 9:21PM
I was 6 to 1 the first day. I'm sure there are people who have run it way more than that with "no loot" to show. "it's a hard knock life..." at least for some of the other holidays you get snowballs or pumkins to throw at people. Maybe they can add some beer that makes players "more festive" :)
FireMaster Sep 24th 2011 12:28PM
Do you think there's any indication that Rexxar will have a major role in the future or do you think his story is over?
Jack Sep 24th 2011 6:24PM
I really hope that we see more of Rexxar. He played way too big of a part in the Horde's history to just leave him sitting in Outlands.
Now that I think of it, is Gallywix going to be in 4.3? The expansion's nearing it's end and we haven't seen him anywhere other than the Goblin starting zone. The Worgen have their racial leader in a capital city, but Gallywix has been gone for quite some time.
In my opinion, a great explanation for his absence would be that he was making deals with the other Goblin cartels to allow travel through the South Seas, which would set up an upcoming expansion.
A man can dream...
Suzaku Sep 24th 2011 10:17PM
He's popular and he has a unique model. Blizzard will hopefully capitalize on those facts.
If the next expansion is indeed Mists of Pandaria, maybe his history with Chen will play into things.
Embervii Sep 24th 2011 12:53PM
In the other caverns of time instances, you are transformed into a human illusion to "fit in" with the past and not rouse suspician. Do you think we'll keep with that since Rhonin was running around or do you think we'll all be night elves?
Joseph Smith Sep 24th 2011 1:32PM
Not to mention a huge green orc. A race that didn't even EXIST on Azeroth yet.
Hopefully we'll be able to keep our own forms. After all, the Humans and Orcs in Durnholde didn't really seem to mind a giant Moonkin running around raining fire upon them all when my Druid went there, yet apparently a purple skinned humanoid with big ears would have made them freak out.
Koraya Sep 24th 2011 2:10PM
Plus, if you are there to kill all the 'witnesses' anyway...who cares what they see before they doe?

Q4TQ:
We've already had two different Aspects who have gone insane (Deathwing and Malygos). Of the remaining three who have retained their sanity, who do you think would be most likely to go insane as well? While I'm sure Blizzard wouldn't corrupt yet another Aspect, my bet is on Ysera because being in the Emerald Nightmare for so long can't be good for her.
Vdiamantepower Sep 24th 2011 1:17PM
My bet is any of them.... Blizzard does love a rise and fall story
Hob Sep 24th 2011 1:33PM
There are good arguments for all of them being corrupted.
Nozdormu will apparently become Murozond at some point, so that's already confirmed.
The Emerald Dream is becoming the Emerald Nightmare, so there's a good chance the Old Gods are already whispering to Ysera.
The Curse of Flesh is a tool of the Old Gods, to give life to inanimate objects. Alexstrazsa is the Aspect of Life, so that could be how they corrupt her: "Hey, we give life to stuff that didn't have life before, so we can't be all bad /whisper whisper whisper..."
Necrosaro Sep 24th 2011 1:10PM
How can we steal the Dragon Soul during the War of the Ancients, when it's an important item lore wise, even after that?
VioletArrows Sep 24th 2011 2:05PM
Steal it after it exists but nobody's using it, return it to that point a second after we stole it, nobody's the wiser.
