Patch 4.3 PTR: Build 14732 hits the servers

Just breezing over them at a first glance, we can see that there are tooltip changes galore, including a distressing change to Enrage for us fury warriors (bleeds look to be excluded from Enrage now, as it now states physical damage instead of all damage). Holiday companions that used to require a reagent now just work during their holiday, like the Winter Reindeer. That's a nice change, in my opinion.
We'll be bringing you the best of the patch 4.3 PTR changes all night long, so keep an eye on the site.

Kind of? It's a total nerf. I'd like to summon them whenever I feel the need to be amused by them.

Dance! Dance for your king!

I've never tried a PTR, haven't really been playing long enough yet. Is it worth it? Or should I just keep on gearing, hoping to somehow reach raid level for the real release?
Noyou Sep 27th 2011 6:21PM
I always think about trying the PTR but I know my head would likely asplode from all the new stuffs going on at once.
Revynn Sep 27th 2011 8:05PM
Generally the only people who gain a real benefit out of spending time on the PTR are addon developers and the hardcore progression raiders who are competing for world/server firsts and want to see the new fights as quickly as possible. That said, its still fun to get on and play around with the new toys like Transmog/Void Storage/etc. I'm neither an addon developer nor competing for world/server firsts, but I still like to get on the PTR for kicks. You can create premade 85 raid geared characters if you've always wondered what it's like to play a Rogue/Priest/whatever at max level, check out the new dungeons, see how T13 looks on your Goblin . . .
Just be warned, PTR's are usually extremely full, buggy and laggy. Sometimes even getting on is a chore in and of itself.

Hunter and Priest T13 was just datamined out..
Hunter T13 looks like it should have gone to DK's.
Priest T13 is one of the best armor sets I have ever seen.

Priest Tier 13 is ****ing amazing.
Homeschool Sep 27th 2011 6:28PM
Looks like Priests are winners this time around. That's a gorgeous set.
Also, don't write off the DK's yet... From the Wowhead-datamined icons, it looks like they're getting something insectoid-based.
Caz Sep 27th 2011 6:30PM
I like all of the priest set except theat head piece.
Many will like it, but I've never cared for head pieces that cover the face or hair.
Iirdan Sep 27th 2011 6:45PM
Priest set seems to scream "Medieval Europe doctors". I loooove it.
mxcarne Sep 27th 2011 6:47PM
Hunter reminds me of frank from Donnie darko.
jealouspirate Sep 27th 2011 6:51PM
Yeah, they really outdid themselves with the Priest set. One of the best sets in the game, in my opinion.
Udderpowered Sep 27th 2011 6:52PM
The priest set is creepier than the one with tentacles hanging out of the face...I LOVE IT!
Joerendous Sep 27th 2011 6:58PM
I concur about the priest set. Like a chess piece. King me.

It looks like healing through Atonement will get a range boost to 100 yards...
I hope this makes it to live.
Luke casts Crosses Fingers, and begins mumbling to himself.

Bleeds are physical damage as far as I understand.
Thats why tigers fury buffs my rip, and why HoP stops it from harming things.
It will mean that fire damage procs from tier shouldn't be buffed, or any other non physical damage we may be causing from items/mechanics
Cyno01 Sep 27th 2011 6:29PM
Well, i guess that confirms that epic gems will drop uncut.
Noyou Sep 27th 2011 6:35PM
No. It confirms there will be uncut gems. They can still drop the cut versions and have uncut versions available for purchase or through prospecting. Either way the fact that their will likely be uncut gems makes my JC a little happier. Now we will see if we will get the ability to learn the epic recipes without raiding...

Where do you get the new PTR, mine still shows the old version.. >:(
Drakkenfyre Sep 27th 2011 10:41PM
You can't upgrade old PTR clients. You have to completely download a new one.
