Wow. Dethroning an inactive GM. Sounds cool but what if they want to take a month off? That will be interesting to see how that plays out.

Yes, but if a GM who wants to just take a month off doesn't take the initiative to inform his second in command that he is doing so, he deserves to be "dethroned". To GMs who are worth their salt, this dethroning feature doesn't pose a serious threat and in fact provides a solid contingency plan should catastrophe strike.
