Stalwart dataminers over at the
Scrolls of Lore forums have put together images of the new dungeon gear sets coming in
patch 4.3. These sets are not true sets in that they have bonuses, but the gear from the new
Hour of Twilight 5-man dungeons will each have a cohesive aesthetic look to them. Check out the images of these new dungeon sets in our gallery; thanks to poster handclaw for these awesome shots.
The cloth set currently does not have shoulders showing because of a bug where the right and left shoulders are swapped on the palette. We will update the gallery with a new shot plus shoulders when we get our hands on it. Until then, enjoy.
Brace yourselves for what could be some of most exciting updates to the game recently with patch 4.3. Review the official patch notes, and then dig into what's ahead: new item storage options, cross-realm raiding, cosmetic armor skinning and your chance to battle the mighty Deathwing -- from astride his back!

The plate actually looks badass.
HappyTreeDance Sep 28th 2011 6:24PM
Wow. That plate set is....dramatically better than the cloth, leather, and mail sets.
Zani Sep 28th 2011 6:43PM
yes!!!! Finally a plate set that a dk can wear that doesn't completely suck!!!!!!
realmreaver Sep 28th 2011 6:51PM
The return to dungeon sets? Seriously I don't see why considering mogging but that plate does look sic enough to want to obtain it. Hell I got a great looking alliance theme armor I worked hard for but this darker blue/gold look would work great with my DK anyways.

It's most likely because of transmogrify. Extra sets of gear that can be used, if players actually prefer them.
(BTW, except for the cloth set, I like those better than the T13.)

Not a fan of the cloth set, but the texture work on it is amazing.

I wish Blizzard would use the chunky boot model for more than just plate. There are only like 2 mail boot models that use it and there are dozens of plate boots that do :c

Wow that plate set looks amazing! Imo it looks good enough to be a Tier set.

*sees cloth* not bad.
*sees leather* it's alright.
*sees mail* that looks OK.
*sees plate* OMG WTF EPIC SET!!!!!!!!!1111

Cloth, leather, and mail all got the shaft. The Plate looks really cool, though.

As a cloth wearer, I am pleased with the simplicity of the cloth set. In fact I LOVE the shoulders. I am sure many people didn't notice the shoulder because they are small, discreet, and look like they are actually made of cloth.
Possum Sep 29th 2011 8:37AM
I didn't actually realise he was wearing shoulders. I thought that was part of the robe texture.
StClair Sep 29th 2011 2:02AM
That is some fine-looking plate.

Shame the source forum is such trash, but I guess most forums these days suffer from tyrannical moderators who have free reign to do as they please to people.
As for the armor sets, plate is almost of the quality you'd expect from a raid set, the leather set isn't very good, I'd take the mail set for my hunter any day over raiding as a Murloc, and the cloth reminds me of SWG for some reason.
Someone else said it better about cloth and leather, mud brown, c'mon guys!

Two years later and you're still sore about your ban, eh?
Revrant Dec 19th 2011 8:19PM
Sure am, given I was banned by a dirtbag who goes around treating everyone like trash and acting like a dictator while the owner does nothing to stop it, the amount of abuse he dolls out keeps a lot of keen minds out of your forum - people like myself who don't tolerate that.

While I think the idea from Blizzard to have dungeon gear is a good one, I am sorely disappointed in their offering. It really feels like saying "let them eat cake".
Sure, they don't look half-bad, but compare them to raid tier. I'm curious to see how the player base responds to it.
Edymnion Nov 18th 2011 4:25PM
Look at the dungeon gear we have now (pre-zul) and it doesn't look so great either. I rather like the Uldum themed cloth gear, actually.
Drakenlord Dec 19th 2011 4:34PM
That's a pretty cool plate set
