I had a problem on my Rogue just last night due to "Holy crap, my gear is freaking old!" issues.

However, it only lasted until I swapped over to Assassination from Subtlety... then it was all good again.

That being said: Anything that helps people ease into the new content (without having to swap specs) is greatly appreciated... you know, for when my next alt rears its ugly head.
