No one has 65 levels of experience at doing it behind them unless they're still tanking the same way they were doing it at level 20, in which case, they're doing it wrong. They need to learn how to do it at endgame with all the skills you don't get until late in the game. If they can't figure that out from 80-85, having them spend 79 more levels doing it without the endgame skills will just make them worse at it.
