"Keep in mind, however, this is the PTR and prices may change -- although most players have so much gold on their hands by now that this could almost be considered a needed gold sink."I disagree. Spread out across all my toons, I might have 18k, might. I know a great many people for whom making money is not what they do. I would wager that the majority of my guild falls into this category. I have a few who play the AH but most just go about their business and their questing and dailies and occasional AH sales are their sole source of income. I was looking at my tabard bag. 20 different tabards all waiting to go into storage. Granted I don't spend a lot of money on stuff in game but that's 2k just to store my tabard collection. If that's the final live cost, I'll probably do it to make bag room, but I won't like it. I'm not averse to a charge to utilize the service. It just seems that 100g is really pricey, especially for the casual player.

"And this is why people like me are making thousands of gold on the AH every day - because most people are too lazy or stupid to do it themselves. I supply all you folks with glyphs and then you turn around and complain that you can't afford them. Making money on the AH is incredibly easy, doesn't take a huge time investment, and can be done by anyone. Or you can just complain that you're poor!!!!!!

@JonSo, according to you, we buy from the AH (from you) because we are too lazy and stupid to SELL on the AH (like you)?Bit of a logic failure there, sweetie. Besides, as the poster to whom I am technically replying to indicated, some of us are unable to devote sufficient time in game to amass vast amounts of gold- we logon, play for our own fun, and logoff.Oh, and please have fun rolling around in the piles and piles of your virtual gold.Sintra E'Drien of the Ebon Blade, né Sindorei (The Not-Quite-Impoverishéd)

@ SintraedrienI'd say "yes" to the lazy or stupid part collectively. As I'm closing in on 1 million in gold, I still LOL every time I sell small eggs for 1g during Winter's Veil or when I sell any of the bags for 99g found in SW in the trade district about 5 seconds away from the AH.Most people in my guild don't use their professions to make any gold either, they just complain about how they don't have any gold. I've found that Blizz continues to make it easier to accumulate gold - better gear, lower prices for riding, etc. And time? It takes me about 15 minutes to do my AH posting and then I'm off to raid or whatever I'm doing atm (Sporegar rep on my main currently). You seem to have skipped over the part where Jon said "doesn't take a huge time investment".But the great thing is people do not have to play the AH game to make gold. They can quest regularly, do dailies or even run some older instances and vendor everything they get and if they hold onto their gold, they'd at least be thousandaires very, very quickly.

People in my guilds don't generally have money either--our "guild mom" does, but she has like 16 85's and counting, and farms and dailies a LOT, and doesn't use the AH at all, even to sell. But she could buy a couple of Vial of the Sands and have cash left over. She's not a majority. She also tends to help guildies buy their first flying mounts (or whatever the highest flying expense is currently), and recipes, and gear, etc when she can; people avoid talking about gold when she's in channels as she'll throw it at them. The rest of us range from comfortable to poor, but using something like Void Storage often, at the current ptr prices, isn't frugal at all nor will keep people in gold eventually the cost of dailies + instances + farming won't make up for the cost of VS if used for many items. People can do it slowly over time, but the initial cost is going to stop some of them. A lot of people save up for a big purchase and then are broke again, taking time to build up. People who have loads of gold don't tend to spend it on a lot of things. In my guild especially, people use their farming and daily time to gather things to help guildmates--gems are transmuted and gathered to be cut to fill up gear replacements, items are DE'd and gathered up to enchant new gear, and so on. Our raid leader will gem and enchant new gear right there in the raid when we get something a player can use. Herbs and elixirs and food fill the bank to make cookies and cauldrons on raid nights. Not everyone's in game to make a profit, and it's not because they're "too stupid" to game the AH or "too lazy" to farm things. It's because helping their friends and guildies and having fun together is way more important than making fake money.

@LynMarsI see whut you did thar....nice straw man argument, "Not everyone's in game to make a profit, and it's not because they're "too stupid" to game the AH or "too lazy" to farm things. It's because helping their friends and guildies and having fun together is way more important than making fake money. "No one said anything about being too stupid to "game" the AH or too lazy to farm things. They are to stupid and lazy to acquire knowledge. When they purchase a herbing bag from me for 99g when I bought it in SW for < 30g...when they purchase Dust of Disappearance or Vellums off the AH for 100x the vendor price...then they appear to be lazy and stupid. Our guildmates do the same thing you stated (free enchanting, gem-cutting) Heck, I've purchased 2 Choppas for guildies b-days...what does that have to do with this topic though?Goldmaking (also known as the economy) IS a part of WoW. I laughed when you stated at the end "It's because helping their friends and guildies and having fun together is way more important than making fake money. " but at the beginning stated how you Guild Mom could help out guildies because she did have gold...kinda ironic.I think the point Jon and I were trying to make (I guess not very well) was that making a bit of gold doesn't take as much time and effort as most people seem to think. I know I was trying to offer some suggestions...anyway WoW is a great big game with lots of ways to play it! Huzzah!
