World of WarCrafts: Crafts from around the web
I love getting random submissions for World of WarCrafts, but sometimes I get a backlog of interesting and fun links to check out. Today I'm going to clear out some of the backlog and share a few of the submissions I've gotten over the past several months, like the adorable and fearsome Magmaw hand puppet shown above. Created by Glow over at Glow's Branches, Magmaw isn't just incredibly cute, he's also incredibly easy to make. Glow posted a how-to guide on creating your very own Magmaw for instructional raid purposes. Or just because he's charming, of course.
Speaking of cute, the next submission on the list is a pair of prancing ponies customized to a Horde and Alliance theme. Check out the ponies and other crafts after the break!

But TiellaNicole is no stranger to customizing My Little Ponies. Her Deviantart account is full of ponies representing everything from Zelda to Mario to Winnie the Pooh, all with hand-threaded hair and carefully painted by hand. Check out her Deviantart account for full-size images of both the Horde and Alliance variants, as well as a ton of other gaming-related customized ponies!

Nailing a theme
I've heard of getting your nails done, but I don't think I've ever seen anything quite this detailed before. Livejournal user Myrrhdusa is apparently in school to be a nail tech and has a background in miniature painting. Throw the two together, and you get a set of nails with an astonishing amount of detail. There are miniature representations of every Horde race, as well as a beautifully shaded Horde banner and an equally detailed delicate hearthstone.
I'm fairly certain if I ever went into the salon and asked for anything close to that amount of precision, I'd be turned down flat. I'm equally certain that with the kind of talent displayed on those nails, Myrrhdusa shouldn't be having any problems in the school department!
Thanks to those who emailed the submission in. I highly suggest checking out the full size version of the photo over at the WoW_Ladies community on Livejournal -- the sheer amount of minuscule details right down to the flecked, rough edges of the hearthstone are absolutely amazing.

Sweet little Deathwing
Last but certainly not least is a link I was sent recently to the sweet amigurumi Deathwing pictured above, created by Songs4Drowning. Deathwing was apparently created for a craft swap some point earlier this year, but the little guy didn't come to my attention until recently. The little details on the dragon are great, but it's the jaw that makes the whole piece -- and it's the jaw that was apparently a completely freehand construction! For a freehand project, it certainly turned out amazing. You can check out the full post, along with more photos of the darling little bringer of death, over on the Craftster forums.
I'm still looking for more crafts to feature! If you have any Warcraft-themed crafts you'd like to share, whether custom cakes, cosplay or songs, be sure to send them in!

Anne,
Would submitting a pic of Deathwing burnt BBQ pork count towards World of Warcrafts?
I only ask because I wanted to submit it for a future Queue/ World of Warcrafts article.
Thanks,
Task

Too bad nails that detailed are pretty difficult to do as a live person, I think those were done on a model and probably took several hours. It already takes 2-3 hours to get acrylic nails with a stencil design from scratch, so doing that kind of thing probably took like a whole day, maybe more. There's a nail place near where I live that has pictures of hundreds of beautifully detailed nails like that, on models and as pictures... but the price and time it takes to get nails like that, especially considering they'd grow out in a couple weeks... it's unfortunately not worth it.
On the other hand, I would totally buy glue on nails like that, even though I'd probably only wear them for, say, Blizzcon weekend and then take them off.

"pretty difficult to do" should be "pretty difficult to GET". I mean, they're also difficult to DO but that part is pretty obvious, it's the difficult to GET part that probably isn't.

I have trouble doing anything computer-related if my nails get longer than about 1/8 inch, and maintaining regular fingernail polish gives me fits. Folks who can manage real life with those have my, ah, respect, I guess.

LITTLE FEET!
Too bad there isn't a practical way to make 'em wiggle. XD

That Magmaw sock puppet was so cute haha! It might come in handy (pun intended) to explain the fight to new raiders on the new Raid Finder.
