Let's do another weekend where I play new music I like for you. Here's the opening track from Foster the People's debut album Torches.
Andre asked:
My account was hacked yesterday and banned earlier today for exploitative use of the economy. I've never bought gold or powerleveling services, nor have I ever bought and account or character. I submitted a ticket to Blizz. Will I be able to get my account back?
I saw in the comments that this problem is already solved, but here's an answer for posterity. "Economy exploitation" is the blanket term used when an account is used for illicit purposes, such as selling gold or spamming ads. It's normally the result of an account compromise. Just appeal the closure through the normal channels, and you should be fine.
Bonk asked:
Do you think the designer who made the Paladin PvP S11 armour set played a little too much Darksiders and wanted to re-create War in WoW? The first thing that popped into my head when I saw the armour set was "That looks like War."
Hell no, dude. It bears maybe a passing resemblance to War, but I'll tell you what it really is: the visual aesthetic from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night in armor form.
That said, of course, Joe Madureira has always had a Warcraft-y style to his work (Ludo Lullabi seems to be in that same school as well), so there's bound to be some cross-pollination here and there.
Kurash asked:
First, I promise that this is not a "Justice Point Conversion" question! However, I can't remember hearing if the current tier of Valor Point-purchasable items will once again become available for Justice Points.
So: Will items that are currently available from the Valor Point vendor become purchasable for Justice Points once the patch hits?
That's how things work now, yes.
Stephanie asked:
If a mage at level 85 conjures Mana Cake, and gives it to a level 34, will it become a Mana Cookie? Or is there no way for higher levels to produce low level vittles since spell levels went away.
It'll stay a Mana Cake, meaning the level 34 player couldn't use it. Unfortunately, mages have no way of conjuring food lower than their current tier.

@hicks:
The regular heroics can be done by a group with 5-6k DPS. That's where my own guild was back when we were doing them in guild runs. They freaked when I told them I didn't want to move to doing the zul's until we could get everyone to 10k DPS. And now, I think I was overshooting. I've tanked many Zul's just fine with top DPS in the 8-9k DPS range (sometimes me as tank, sometimes me in #2).
More DPS just means faster - though often it means slower because people seem to have an inverse ratio between stupid and meter-DPS. The more DPS they do, the more they act like idiots and we wipe to 'pro moves' like DPS pulling when the healer is OOM and the tank has just said BRB... or pulling while the healer is rezzing the tank thanks to that last pull... :)
But the lower the DPS, the more they think about their actions - and so I find the fastest runs are with mid-range DPS. The meter is high enough that get through quickly, but not so high that stupid has come to visit.

The comment system accidentally your reply, but yeah, that was sort of the point I was trying to make--it's not a big deal to carry bad/dead dps if you're overgeared for the instance, and a combined 20k is usually enough for the intro heroics. Doesn't matter if it's 12/8/dead/dead or 6/6/6/3.
My point was more that people are (passively) jerks for not being thoughtful enough to show appreciation for the one or two geared toons (whether it's an uber tank, uber healer, or uber dps) that end up carrying the others, just like they're active jerks for being gear snobs to fresh 85s. Whatever, the run gets done, you get your precious VPs, it just might take 3 minutes longer.

As far as the account hacking goes your account could have been banned for botting. When my husband's characters got hacked the miner was the only one who didn't get stripped. The program sold all his bags and got mining ones and made him fly around in circles in Uldum for who knows how long. He also had two of his characters deleted to make room for spammers/mailers.
We caught the activity after two days had gone by and reported it. Blizz got back to us within a few hours. We tried to order authenticators but Blizz sent them to the wrong address even when we had tried to have them send it to our new one in the first place.
We ended up quitting for good after that when we heard about GW2 coming out eventually sometime maybe. But Blizz was nice enough to give us a refund for the authenticators after the failed shipping.
So to those who bought gold on Argent Dawn who very directly screwed us over: go stand in some fire.

My question today comes with a story, but question first:
Is there any way to find out the name of someone I bought an auction from on the AH after I picked up the item in the mail?
You see, I'd been farming this one chest piece for transmog purposes for weeks. I'd just about given up on the thing and started asking around in trade chat, offering 500g which is a fair price for something with a drop rate that low but only a very limited demand. There weren't any takers and I'd been on the edge of despair, when miraculously, the item showed up on the AH for 8g. I bought it so fast my head was spinning and obviously picked it up right away - I needed to see its gloriousness for myself!
But now I feel like I want to give the person a little more than those 8 measly gold. I want them to feel the way I felt, like they'd just won a secret lottery! Unfortunately, I was so excited, I didn't make note of their name, and now I regret my impulsiveness a little. If there's no way, I'd also take suggestions of some way to pay it forward.

Try asking on trade on a busy night.... U will prolly get tons of trolling.. Just dont say why u want to find that person

If you've got the auctioneer addon, I believe one of the tabs lets you see buying history. If not, then you may be SooL.

I haven't seen an answer for this. I'm cleaning out the guild bank and we have a lot of Darkmoon Faire cards, not enough for full decks, but close. Are those going away? I assume the inscription created cards are not, but what about the decks that were accumulated via world drops?

Has Tier 13 models for Death Knights been revealed yet? I'm not an end-game player; in fact I'm on strict hiatus due to real life but I'd like to see what it looks like. Was fairly disappointed by Hunter T13 though some people weren't. Priests got some choice looking gear though.

Looking through the mounts that were datamined by MMO-Champion, and subsequently posted here:
http://wow.joystiq.com/2011/09/29/the-overachiever-examining-patch-4-3s-new-achievements/#continued
I noticed three that really grabbed my attention. Swift Forest Strider, Swift Shorestrider, and Swift Springstrider. Looking through my mounts, aside from the Swift gryphons, the only Swift mounts I have are the racial mounts, the Trial of the Champions Seals mounts, and the singular Swift White Hawkstrider. I also noticed that the Swift racial mounts came in sets of threes, too. Could these mounts be the racial mounts for a new race? If so, where are the non-Swift racial mounts? Would this mean the new race starts at a level so high, it wouldn't need the non-Swift mounts?

Q for the fair and just Queue: Are you guys getting wow.com back since AOL's attempt at a daily deal site went kaput?
Drakkenfyre Sep 30th 2011 11:19PM
I have a feeling several of the editors would rage if they had to move to wow.com again.
Another idiotic move Aol did that failed. No one's surprised. I still feel they were banking on half the traffic being people looking for the game, and staying for whatever Groupon-ripoff coupon they had.

Is there anything on the ptr that ties into the fireland dailies series of quests? IE: must you have completed those quests to progress further in parts of 4.3? Given that it takes so much time to complete those, it would be a real pain to level an alt through that content if you chose to do so, just to get to 4.3 content. Also for the people who have yet to get through the dailies on one toon, they would want to make sure that they had it completed before the 4.3 patch drops. Any thoughts?

From the Raid Finder FAQ:
"This means that if you were present for the defeat of a boss, whether you receive loot or not, then you will automatically pass on loot that drops during later attempts on that boss during the same week."
Does this apply to normal/heroic attempts of just other Raid Finder attempts?
