I was going to go with "a little late, but okay" myself.

No its not, its far to late.
I resent helping others get crafting materials iin instances, not being able to roll on them myself, then being charged through the fucking nose to get something crafed which needs them.
Bliz really screwed up on chaos orbs. Should have been Bop all the way through, rollable on by anyone, regardless of professions.

Not soon enough.
They need to hot fix it in. :P
This crafted gear will be outdated by next patch anyway.

I don't get all this "too little too late" stuff. People aren't going to be able to jump straight into Hour of Twilight heroics when they ding 85, there's going to be ilvl restrictions, and they're still going to need gear to fill gaps without cheesing the system with crafted PvP gear. Crafted 359s are still going to serve a purpose. This is great news for people trying to get alts up to speed.

It's a fine line between "it's about damn time" and not soon enough. I am totally happy about this. I haven't done any heroics yet but am planning on gearing up my pally to tank for my guild and check out the new 5-mans. Looking forward to be able to get some orbs to craft goggles and a shield. Hopefully there will be a glut of them released on patch day :)

I'm with the ones who say they've been too damn late, and should hotfix the damn thing.
Better than never, but really it's a /golfclap at this point.

the only people happy about this are the ones who have use o orbs in their main and get them on a regular basis-- everybody else, like said above, just sees them get it "for free" and charged ridiculous prices for crafted-- they should have never been soulbound in the first place

I wouldnt base my craftings on the idea that people WANT to craft firelands craftables (living embers still rare?) just to get into 5mans and most likely replacing if better itemized over there. People rather to easy way out by abusing the system by something like pvp gear in bags rather than actually making effort to get gear to get into "trolls" currently. Why would this change anyway? Its easier and cheaper this way. Its just the way it is and has always been since they found out pvp gear and IN BAGS epics count.
Not to mention justice points get you pretty fast to T12(!) which can get you into 5mans easy.
Then comes LFRaid where the true dedication to your char counts. Since you get gear from 5mans you can jump into LFR..unless 5mans misses boots totally firelands crafted items are going to be useless sellers most of the time?
Thankfully it seems that 4.3 craftables will require chaos orbs still so this wont make chaos orbs appear on AH for 20g due lots of supply but zero demand, tho!

I totally agree with the idea that this is way WAY too late. What difference does it make now? The rich have already gotten richer off of this crap. And now anything that would go down in price as a result of this change, is far FAR outdated. Ridiculous.
Just add the management of Chaos orbs to the long list of "wtf" things Blizz had going on in Cata. Like the unchecked inflation of gold, 1 hour long Troll instances, and a profession (archaeology) based solely on RNG.
So many "wtf", for such a short expansion...
