The Queue: Turkey bacon and egg on a roll

That's what I had for breakfast.
Debelak asked:
I have a friend who I am trying to get into the game. I recommended he try the trial account. The problem is, the race he is most excited about is Worgen and he can only play that if he buys all the expansions. He is hesitant to level a race he isn't that excited about up to 20, and then after he decides to buy the game re-roll as a Worgen. I don't want him to spend all that money, though, if it turns out the game isn't for him. Any advice?
Level 20 is not the slog that it used to be or really ever was. Basic gameplay will get you to 20 faster than you would imagine. Tell him that this is his trial and that when and if he enjoys the game for these 20 levels, there is a bunch of other cool starter stuff for him with the Worgen experience. His first 20 levels should be all about becoming familiar with the game world and mechanics, which will allow him a more relaxed Worgen starting experience since he isn't learning everything all at once.
evoxpisces asked:
Did I miss the DK tier 13 unveiling? Or did Blizz not yet show what it will look like?
We have no idea what the death knight set looks like, but from the little icons, it looks like there will be bones involved or something else bleach-white. Ghost bones. Ghost Bone Battlegear.
Elazul Yagami asked:
Do you think they're going to add Chromatus as the real "hidden" end boss of 4.3 like they did with Sinestra?
I had thought that Chromatus would appear in the raid or 5-mans in some form, but I guess I was wrong. That damn dragon was practically built in Twilight of the Aspects to be a raid boss, from his introduction by the Twilight Father to his climactic battle. Maybe his story really did begin and end with the novel.
On the other point, no, there is no secret boss after Deathwing. We've seen the Dungeon Journal for the fights, and Blizzard has stated that there are eight encounters in the Dragon Soul raid. Could it change? Sure. Is it likely to change? Not really. Deathwing is the ultimate end boss of this expansion and that's how it is going to stay, much like how the Lich King was the final boss of Wrath of the Lich King. Nobody counts Halion.
BKryda asked:
Any chance for the queue to stop repeating questions from the previous day or second day (i.e. Will Firelands stop dropping vp?), inserting stupid questions, etc?
If people are asking the questions, then not everyone is getting the answers they are looking for. Maybe they aren't looking for them in the right places, but information is information. You and me both would like people to stop asking the basics, but until they do, sometimes it is nice for a reminder, especially when big new patches are coming and lots of PTR information is changing so rapidly.
Helper asked:
How is Blizzard addressing all of this time traveling? Isn't it horribly weakening the fabric of reality or something?
It's a video game and magic did it. Also, a time dragon.

Was there ever any reason given for Nalice being removed from Wyrmrest?
e.friedman1992 Oct 3rd 2011 11:41AM
Well, If I would hazard a guess, I would say she was removed by the other dragons. She was only allowed there in the first place as a formality. (She even said that she made them worry) and Deathwing never really openly attacked anything before. ( I may be wrong about that) But now that he is out in the open killing things, it kinda makes sense.
restodr00d Oct 3rd 2011 12:20PM
in the book says that she "dissapeared" when Deathwing broke out of Deepholm
loop_not_defined Oct 3rd 2011 12:57PM
Was she removed in the 4.3 PTR as a WotLK quest giver? Because I just did the Dragonblight/Black Dragonflight quests starting with Nalice last week, and I'm absolutely certain I saw her.

@loop: Northrend is still in the WotLK time pocket. The events at Wyrmrest Temple are all accessed via the Caverns of Time.

Actually... a wizard did it.
I'm looking at you Rhonin...
*arms crossed, disappointed look*

Chromatus could be a nice Halion like encounter between expacs tbh.
MattKrotzer Oct 3rd 2011 11:14AM
I'd suspect that they're keeping him in reserve, just in case they fall behind and DO need to insert something for us to bash our faces against before the next expac.

Look at all the boss models in raid - they're all old ones (except for Ktulhu Deathwing). I think artists didn't have time to make 5-headed dragon. Maybe they used their time to make armor, weapons, Deathwing and some 5-man dungeon bosses. And now they're creating expansion.

I've always thought of Halion as being the first raid boss of Cataclysm, sort of as a patch 4.-1, due in large part to his huge connections with the Cataclysm plot-lines and very (very) weak relationship with anything Wrath. I suspect that if we get another surprise raid AFTER Deathwing, it'll be something similar: a tie-in to the next expansion.
Pyromelter Oct 3rd 2011 1:16PM
Halion was a pretty much universally reviled raid instance, not really "nice" unless you are using that word with extreme sarcasm.
Chromatus deserves better than the Halion experience.
Also, remember that blizz set up Magatha to be a future raid boss too, as well as potentially Azshara. Plenty of bad guys to kill repeatedly in future expansions... no need to waste them on one-off filler content.
If they want to do filler for the next expansion, I think doing some easier quest chains would be better, like the gnome and troll experiences from the end of wrath.

@Orrine -
There's a lot of talk about how most of the Demon Soul bosses are reused, but do you remember Marrowgar? He was a crappy old skeleton up until he went live, and he's one of the neatest boss models existing. I wouldn't be surprised if at least one or two ended up changed.
Toren Oct 3rd 2011 11:06AM
You mean, a time-dragon-WIZARD did it...
lazymangaka Oct 3rd 2011 12:33PM
Putting Chromie in fixes everything. Always.
Jinx Oct 3rd 2011 12:36PM
Time Wizard + Young Dragon = Thousand Dragon.
Al Oct 3rd 2011 3:45PM
Time-Dragon: a Lizard did it.
Wizarddray Oct 3rd 2011 5:24PM
Thousand-island dragon?
Eddy Oct 3rd 2011 5:47PM
I went looking for pictures of the Doctor and a lizard, and apparently this has never happened. Somehow, that makes me really sad. So have this instead.
