The Queue: Time travel is just the worst

Raise your hand if you want an Hour of Twilight stream tonight, so I can sucker Matt, Mat, Anne, and an amorphous WoW Insider blob into showing up again.
MoarHeroisms asked:
Does the threat of the infinite dragonflight end with Murozond's demise?
Almost certainly not. We've only killed one flavor of him in one timeline. Nozdormu is the Aspect of Time. He can see all timelines and all possibilities and can exist in all of them. It's safe to assume Murozond can do the same. Just because we killed him in End Time doesn't mean there aren't many other shadows of him left elsewhere.
Also remember that End Time is a timeline we specifically go out of our way to prevent. We killed Murozond, sure, but when we go back and kill Deathwing, we prevent that from ever coming to pass. So after all is said and done, we never did kill him, did we?
Someone who watches Dr. Who should insert that wibbly-wobbly doobly-shoobly humpty-dumpty quote here for me.
Saikoujin asked:
We've seen the Dragon Soul loot models data mined. For most gear, there are four colorations, most likely denoting ilvl. However, I can only think of 3 gear iterations: LFR, Normal, and Heroic. Am I missing something? If there is indeed going to be four interations of gear coming from DS, where does the 4th fit in?
Blizzard always makes more color variations of any given model than it'll use right away. The extra colors either get used on NPCs, or they sit around until the developers need it for some other purpose. Having too many skins is better than not having enough.
Violet asked:
Please I need to know: Any sight of Sabellian in 4.3 so far? Where is his tushi while we slay his father? Please don't say Circle of Blood. I think I am not the only one anxious to see him finally take some kind of stage. After bringing him all those black whelps and all I expect some kind of entrance. Am I going to be terribly disappointed?
Brace for disappointment.
Everybody ever asked:
What? Only three questions?
Yep. Blame Anne. She stole them all!

Question for the Q(ue(ue))
I've been trying to keep track of all the LFR and 4.3 news, but inevetibally things slip through. According to a Blue you only get loot once per raid boss. Does this count across all raid difficulty tiers? I know that they said that the LFR raids and non-LFR raids won't share a lockout, but would I be able to get loot from both sets of bosses each week, or will LFR kills lock me from recieving loot from my weekly guild runs?
(cutaia) Oct 5th 2011 11:04AM
No, it's just in regards to the LFR version. You'll still be able to get the better loot from the "real" raid.

I have to think they'd amend what they said back then based on what they're doing now. Can't imagine they'd let you down a boss on Practice Mode (maybe wrong, but this is how I've come to think of it already), and get lesser loot, then down him on normal, but not have any normal loot drop SOLELY because you downed him on Practice Mode.

There have been some calls for Blizzard to allow you to see loot on a boss in the raid finder until you've won something - which does seem more in line with their intention to allow everyone to gear up and raid. They seem to be listening even if they aren't going to do exactly that. I want to say one of the blues responded to that post with a link to another post where they implied that they want to do something more like that even if it doesn't make it out until after the 4.3 release.

LFR won't lock you out from looting a boss on Normal or Heroic modes.

I remember the guys who would come to an ICC pug, win something off Marrowgar with their 1 main-spec need roll, and drop since they no longer had a need roll.
Unless there's some way to keep people from dropping raid (highly doubtful), cutting everyone who's won something out of seeing the loot on later bosses will bring those guys back in force, and a lot of raids will fall apart after one or two bosses.

Thanks for the link Killik!

"Unless there's some way to keep people from dropping raid (highly doubtful), cutting everyone who's won something out of seeing the loot on later bosses will bring those guys back in force, and a lot of raids will fall apart after one or two bosses."
You might be misreading the rule a bit. It's not that you can only win one piece of loot per week in Dragon Soul-LFR. It's that you can only win one piece of loot "per boss" per week.
So, say, you go into the LFR version (let's say the first wing) and are super lucky and win loot off of 2/4 bosses. You can then queue for that wing again. This time, those 2 bosses you've won loot from? You'll automatically pass when they die. The other two bosses, though? You'll still be able to roll on their gear.
Might someone occasionally drop after the 3rd boss because they already got something from the 4th? Maybe. Or maybe they'll stick around for their 250 valor. Or if not, you'll get someone new who hopefully wants something off that last boss.
JiBJUB Oct 5th 2011 12:05PM
That is not entirely accurate cutaia -- you cannot get gear from a boss after you've defeated it once ... regardless of whether you won loot or not. From the recent blue's FAQ:
Q. How will loot be distributed?
A. Automatic rolls and the Need Before Greed loot rules will apply in Raid Finder raids, just as they do in Dungeon Finder instances. Also, while Dungeon Finder raids aren’t locked, you are only eligible for loot from a boss once per week. This means that if you were present for the defeat of a boss, whether you receive loot or not, then you will automatically pass on loot that drops during later attempts on that boss during the same week.
All good info here: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/blog/3608426
Puntable Oct 5th 2011 12:06PM
I thought you were only elegible to roll on loot from a boss if it's the first time you killed that boss in that week.
JiBJUB Oct 5th 2011 12:10PM
Just to clarify -- ^^^ only applies to the Looking for Raid boss defeats. It is still a separate lockout from Normal and Heroics. So you can clear LFR, win something on every boss (or not) and then still be eligible to raid and get loot from Normal or Heroic.
Onward!
(cutaia) Oct 5th 2011 12:27PM
Ah, Jibjub is right. Ignore what I said.
But still alleviates Grovin's concern. People who win loot off the first boss won't automatically drop out, because that won't stop them from rolling on loot from later bosses.
Grovinofdarkhour Oct 5th 2011 12:29PM
@ (cutaia) - that makes a little more sense. I was construing what The Dewd described as Blizz essentially institutionalizing our "1 need roll" policy, which would therefore be subject to the same pitfalls as when strangers were involved.
I also didn't realize they're planning (for now) on letting people queue for the same bosses in Practice Mode more than once a week. That's what I get for getting my nutrition from the regurgitated cud of the WoW Insider audience instead of actually making time to read the blue posts for myself... :)
Grovinofdarkhour Oct 5th 2011 12:33PM
Jeez, I can't keep up.
So it's not "you can only win something off of Boss X once", it's "you can only roll on Boss X's drops the first time you're there for his death". I think I got it. (At least until they change it.)
johnny.ramos1 Oct 5th 2011 12:34PM
So if you down a boss, but nothing for you drops. or you dont win a roll. you cant loot him again all week?
nothing new then?
Bellajtok Oct 5th 2011 1:50PM
@johnny
Exactly. Given the.... volatile nature of randoms, this probably most closely mimics the normal raid looting situation.
Arrohon Oct 5th 2011 3:16PM
I think that how cutaia thought it would work is a better solution. All plate dps are going to be really upset when the tank(s) need on dps gear and now they can't even get another chance at that drop for a week. The gear is going to be worse than normal raid gear as it is, I see no need to put so many restrictions on sub-par gear where there are 25 people that might ninja it. Set bonuses aren't THAT good...
Prissa Oct 5th 2011 5:35PM
The way I see it 'practice mode' works exactly the same as a regular raid: you only get 1 shot per week for loot. Too bad if what you want dropped or not, or if you won anything or not. Then they allow you to simply go back and practice the boss mechanics if you so wish afterwards.
I find it so much easier to understand this way.

Is there any way to get a feel for a server's community before transferring to it for real? Level one alts generally just get answers like "Nope." or "Yep."
