I have to disagree. The War of the Ancients has an awesome premise. Time travel, crazy dragons and an Old God conspiracy? Sign me up! The failing of that book falls entirely on Knack's bland writing, in my view.

And I have to disagree with the book failing.
Ah the beauty of opinions...

I was just coming in here to say that, tbh. By all rights, that SHOULD have been the best novel/series in the EU for the sheer amount of crazy, world-defining shit that happened in it. The first invasion of the Burning Legion! Night Elf civil war! The exile of the Highborne! Furion and Tyrande hook up! Illidan becomes a demon hunter! Deathwing turning on the other dragons! Nordrassil gets planted! Seriously, in the hands of even the most incompetent 13 year old on fanfiction.net, that trilogy should have been pants shittingly awesome.
Unfortunately, we went one worse and got Knaak, and the whole thing became a clusterfuck of time travel stupidity for the sole purpose of placing his favorite self-insert into the proceedings as the inexplicable star. And the attendant sub sixth grade prose and cardboard caricature characterization (holy alliteration, Batman!).
