The Queue: Boy
I've snuck in another music recommendation for this weekend. Don't tell anybody!
FatherTouk asked:
If you are at a rank in your guild that requires an authenticator, and you remove it from your account, do you automatically get demoted to a rank that doesn't require one?
You get automatically demoted upon logging into the game.
Matt Krotzer asked:
How much live coverage will WoW Insider be providing of BlizzCon?
A lot. We have a ton of people on the ground at BlizzCon, and we'll have live coverage for you throughout the weekend.
Revynn asked:
With BG's, Heroics and soon Raids being region wide instead of simply isolated to your own server, what are the chances that we'll ever see a region wide Auction House?
I feel like it's unlikely, personally; the Auction House is sort of the last bastion of server community we have left.
Morgatho asked:
Late night (or early morning) Q4tQ: is the new wow book a part of the lore of the game 100% like Twilight of the Aspects is?
Yes, the books are considered canon.
James asked:
Looking at the nifty images of our dragon-buddy Deathwing, specifically the ones of his decaying body within the Maelstrom, we can see one JFK sized hole in the middle of Deathwing's chest; methinks that hole be from Thrall busting straight through Deathwing's chest with the Dragon Soul, but I could be wrong. What do y'all think?
Thrall (and, by extension, the Dragon Soul) seems to be exactly the cause of Deathwing's chest wound. We'll have to see, though.

Big surprise? Hmm... Starcraft: Ghost is back from the dead and has a playable demo. That'd be a surprise!

Also, with the AH region wide question, that would run right into the "mailing heirlooms across servers" wall, right?
icepyro Oct 9th 2011 5:34PM
Partially, but auctions are generally unenchanted, ungemmed, unbound things that don't really involve the mail system. They could treat the place where the auctions go when they leave your bags as void storage and not have much issue. Ultimately, I think Void Storage should be cross realm for account bound things (only) and that this move would fix the cross-realm issues.

My guild is called Last Bastion :)
And an actual Q:
What would happen if I put +40 mastery (save for meta requirements) in all my hpallys gem slots, reforged to mastery, and used at least 1 mastery trinket?
Iirdan Oct 9th 2011 1:28PM
You would have a lot of Mastery.
Alex Ziebart Oct 9th 2011 2:16PM
Iirdan, you stole my answer for this for tomorrow's Queue.
Thanks a lot. :|
cloudhopper013 Oct 9th 2011 2:23PM
Well hey, now you can be boring and factual and point out the Mastery cap that I'm pretty sure exists.
Maybe. I haven't actually played in ages, so eh.
Mark Oct 9th 2011 3:22PM
Mastery is good in all, but for a hpally there are so many other stats that will make you way better, just having a powerful bubble doesn't help that much. You should try out different builds thou, after 4.2 i kind of like to use a lot of crit since anytime you crit you get double the heal so my mediocre 12k holy light is now 26k, or go with haste you can pull off a lot of heals + holy radiance is affected by it. in closing i hate mastery for my hpally but it is a good stat for others.
Revynn Oct 9th 2011 3:57PM
There was an article here about Holy Mastery a while back.
Short version:
As a dedicated tank healer in 25M raids, gemming, enchanting, reforging and otherwise stacking the crap out of Mastery is a very, very, very powerful option at high gear levels. However, in 10's or 5's where you're expected to heal more than the tanks, it lacks the flexibility of Haste stacking.

Kurn (a 25-man holy pally blogger) did a big experiment with stacking mastery.

Why she's not using it now:

"I feel like it's unlikely, personally; the Auction House is sort of the last bastion of server community we have left."
I feel this may actually be why we should expect this feature; given all the other features mentioned in the question, Blizz seems very interested in blurring the lines between servers.
icepyro Oct 9th 2011 6:01PM
They are blurring the lines to help us have more options for fun. I don't really see them blurring the lines completely. We have the LFD tool because nobody ever did heroics because nobody ever did heroics, and people complained. Same with BGs. We have the LFR, but that seems to be more like training wheels and exposure than any actual raiding. The slope is certainly there and they are certainly going down it slowly, but that doesn't really mean Blizz has changed directions. I disagree that the Ah is a bastion of community, but there is a sense of identity in the individual economies.

Q4TQ:
How many gnomes would you require to take down a full grown male tauren, assuming they had no spells or abilities and could only use their physical strength?
Al Oct 9th 2011 2:44PM
Gnomes have physical strength?
I guess they'd have to cockroach-swarm over the Tauren, until either they get into his eyes/mouth or their combined weight forces him to collapse.
Arrohon Oct 9th 2011 3:31PM
It's impossible. There could be an entire army of gnomes and they'd just be gassed. Have you seen tauren cloaks? They never stop releasing that stuff...

That is all.
Noyou Oct 10th 2011 1:01AM
This is a loaded question. You want the Gnome to exist in a reality where he has no special abilities yet you want him to take on a Tauren. My answer is 1. Assuming his papa taught him how to deal with a Tuaren. In case you haven't noticed, Gnomes are at a certain height that would make most foes vulnerable. Especially males. Lifting that leg back to punt them would be your last mistake.

Great video. Gotta love anything that features creepily multiplying yet still adorable hipster kittehs....

QftQ: Whatever happened to the Deathwing Human model? I am kinda disappointed that it really hasn't been used much thus far. Do you think we will see it in the Dragon Soul Raid?
Ilmyrn Oct 9th 2011 3:52PM
It is a cool model, but the problem is that it doesn't really fit Deathwing. Deathwing is so out there that, at least from his perspective, the mortal races aren't worth considering on an individual basis, and even as factions only barely. Deathwing interacts with the other Aspects and elemental lords and Old Gods, not random adventurers.
That said, yeah, I'd be willing to bet we'll see it either in the Dragon Soul raid or in one of the five mans (Presumably NOT End Time).
