The Queue: Boy
I've snuck in another music recommendation for this weekend. Don't tell anybody!
FatherTouk asked:
If you are at a rank in your guild that requires an authenticator, and you remove it from your account, do you automatically get demoted to a rank that doesn't require one?
You get automatically demoted upon logging into the game.
Matt Krotzer asked:
How much live coverage will WoW Insider be providing of BlizzCon?
A lot. We have a ton of people on the ground at BlizzCon, and we'll have live coverage for you throughout the weekend.
Revynn asked:
With BG's, Heroics and soon Raids being region wide instead of simply isolated to your own server, what are the chances that we'll ever see a region wide Auction House?
I feel like it's unlikely, personally; the Auction House is sort of the last bastion of server community we have left.
Morgatho asked:
Late night (or early morning) Q4tQ: is the new wow book a part of the lore of the game 100% like Twilight of the Aspects is?
Yes, the books are considered canon.
James asked:
Looking at the nifty images of our dragon-buddy Deathwing, specifically the ones of his decaying body within the Maelstrom, we can see one JFK sized hole in the middle of Deathwing's chest; methinks that hole be from Thrall busting straight through Deathwing's chest with the Dragon Soul, but I could be wrong. What do y'all think?
Thrall (and, by extension, the Dragon Soul) seems to be exactly the cause of Deathwing's chest wound. We'll have to see, though.

An earlier question may have addressed this issue. It is said that he is literally being held together with the plates at this point and that the raids are literally us removing the plates and letting everything else fall out. When it is nigh impossible to hold yourself together in dragon form, I severely doubt he can manage human form anymore.
Revynn Oct 9th 2011 6:03PM
His human model was used in Badlands quests. I haven tbeen through there since the revamp, but I'm told the quest chain is pretty fun.

We'll always have server community until Blizzard releases a region-wide Trade Chat. Then we'll see who can really be the last to link Thunderfury...

Q4TQ: in terms of lore and science in azeroth how do blizz explain how transmoging works, is it like Ethereal magic or something like that?
Stenenis Oct 9th 2011 4:57PM
Why is there so little Alliance v. Horde action in the endgame? By this is don't mean PvP, but actual plot movement outside of "OMG the world is ending, lets fix it."
It would be nice to see some BIG conflicts, i.e. capitol city invasions in the form of raids, not just a group of players moving in for a while and being a nuisance.
I guess I'm asking for a dynamic system, where players can influence the world instead of waiting for a patch to make things different.
JamesCGamora Oct 9th 2011 5:07PM
I completely agree...I just really like the model. I am just wondering at this point why it was even made if they aren't really going to implement it in any real way.

There's a typo in this Queue! It should be "last forgotten bastion of antiquity" not "last bastion".
Udderpowered Oct 9th 2011 5:26PM
Do you get a Nelf disguise in the Well of Eternity 5 man like the human one in Old Hillsbrad?
Boobah Oct 9th 2011 6:06PM
Well, there are about six different versions of http://ptr.wowhead.com/spell=108469 listed on wowhead's PTR section.
"Night Elf Illusion
The power of the Bronze Dragonflight has changed the target's appearance into that of a Night Elf."

Q4TQ:
What causes Lifegrip to fail but eat its cooldown?
I use Leap of Faith a LOT as a pvp healer, a hobby I've picked up in the last few months on my disc priest. Occasionally, I'll go to lifegrip a flag carrier away from a pack of hordies, and the icon will appear over my head and my target's, but the target doesn't move. Still, my cooldown gets reset. I would say this happens less than 5% of the time, but its frustrating when it does.
Can Leap of Faith "miss"?
Cricket Oct 9th 2011 8:00PM
The target might be rooted. I know that Death Grip doesn't work on rooted targets, at least some of the time, and I suspect it's the same underlying system at work.

I know there was a question about Blizzcon in today's queue, but I was wondering if all of it is going to be WoW related or if there's going to be Starcraft and Diablo stuff as well. If it's just going to be about WoW, where would be a good place to go that will have about the same coverage for those?
Skarn Oct 9th 2011 8:39PM
The coverage here on WoW Insider will largely be about WoW. A few Starcraft or Diablo bits might sneak in during opening ceremonies and such, but they mostly won't be covered.
Unfortunately, I don't know a good site that will be covering either of those games. You could probably find a few possibilities with a few good Google searches though. Also, Blizzard will probably post fairly comprehensive coverage of their various panels on their various sites sometime post-BlizzCon. The official live stream is an option too. The panels will be re-watchable up to 2 weeks after BlizzCon is over.

Where is MattKrotzer? He didn't comment at all on the Queue today!
VioletArrows Oct 9th 2011 9:36PM
And on the seventh day, Krotzer rested.
Noyou Oct 10th 2011 1:01AM
His comment was in the form of a question. He's that good.

Q for the Q: Lately when my friends and I have gotten into a random heroic, we'll sometimes get into a dungeon in progress, but all of the party members have just gotten there. It's very confusing because nobody knows how far along the dungeon is. It happens when we're solo or grouped. Any idea why we're being sent to these "ghost town" dungeons?
Drakkenfyre Oct 10th 2011 4:54AM
Someone in the group was in another group who's members cleared up to that point.
Group comes in, someone drops out. Group gets someone else. Everyone else leaves. That person is still in the queue, you get matched up with them, the dungeon hasn't been reset, you come into a partially-cleared dungeon.
Zuktaw Oct 10th 2011 11:05AM
I have a LFR question that I haven't seen come up yet.
Part of the reason I can't raid is that I never know how long I'll be able to play.
If I only get two bosses down the first time I join a LFR group, the next time I join up will I start at the 3rd one or at the beginning again?

VioletArrows Oct 10th 2011 12:39PM
Hard to tell. There aren't any lockouts to the raid or the bosses, and leaving (even with good reason) gets you a pretty punishing debuff (their words). I don't know if that means that you won't be able to come back for several days, or if your progress will be erased, or both considering a good raid might finish before you're allowed to come back.
