I'm usually a fan of everything blizzard does. But with Diablo's Real Money AH, they made it clear as to not put this in wow and in either game not to take a cut. This might help the gold selling, and fix a few things, which is great, but its still annoying to see them going back on two things they said, and they were said pretty recently. Eh, maybe its for the best though.

Arguments about this particular thing aside, I think if the history of Blizzard teaches us anything, it's that you should infer the phrase "at this time" after anything they say they will or won't do.I honestly think that's been one of their strong points; with apologies to Tauren pallies, there are no real sacred cows in the game. Pretty much every rule, every aspect of design, every piece of lore is fair game for changing.

This is not a Diablo-style real money AH, which is what they said they wouldn't implement in WoW, so they have not gone back on anything they said. If you interpreted what they said as meaning something different that would somehow include this, you were misreading and/or engaging in wishful thinking. But it's poor form to accuse them of going back on their word when they've done nothing of the sort.

Yeah your right Artificial its not Diablo style RMAH in that sense, but it is putting a real money aspect to valuable things more than vanity pets, because its basically buying gold. Its more than the vanity thing. Now all of this considered, I'm actually FOR this, not against it. It's just that they've always said, anything you buy with real money will only be vanity and not help you get powerful. You can't deny they haven't said that. (no your not buying weapons, but if you can buy gold you can buy out people for anything you want, instead of earning the gold, which is ok) (Also, I'm not being too accusatory here, just pointing out a few things, I love blizzard, its my dream to work there someday like so many others)And Daedulus is right too, everything they say you gotta tack on 'at this time'. Reversals on that are usually a year or more past that last time said, and this one was pretty quick. All in all if this system works out like PLEX from EVE Online, then this will just be a good thing. (albeit without the luxury of buying game time with gold :P )

Actually it is the same as D3's AH except, you can't profit outside of the game in WoW's version ( at least that's interpetation ). That and they added a step to buying process. Now it's a 2 step process instead of 1, buy the pet, resell on AH. And as far as not allowing people to purchess in-game power, well it just happened. What do you think people are going to do with the gold they recieve from selling this pet? Not that i'm against this kinda thing though, i've always felt it should be the players choice.
