There are actually two players in my guild who come from "common" orcish families. One spent his earliest childhood years peoning for the Warsong over in Ashenvale, eventually running off and making his way to Nagrand after the reopening of the Dark Portal, where he reconnected with his roots (and the elements), becoming a shaman. The other is the daughter of a trades-peon who traveled extensively up and down Kalimdor, eventually settling down to dirt-farm on the fringes of Durotar with his very inappropriate (read: human) wife -- they were killed in the Cataclysm, when the Southfury flooded, and their orphaned daughter, a very capable young hunter, was "adopted" by my guild. My obligatory Worgen rogue is a common guttersnipe, the literal son of a whore, sold to his kidsman as a toddler in repayment of a debt and brought up as a cutpurse, pickpocket, housebreaker, and muscle for his den of thieves. He barely reads, he doesn't write, and, thanks to the curse falling on him in his mid-teens, he managed to reach his mid-twenties before he owned a set of clothing that hadn't first belonged to (several) other people.
