let me rephrase the very truth ever since the whole DK redesign for cata:BLOOD, was a perfect mix of dps and tanking treethe problem with blood dps was never about capacity/rotation - it was solely lack of synergy and support, with a huge thanks to the 'retarded' armor penetration stat experiment which made Blood looks disproportionally bad as it tips way more melee damage than magic damage compared to other 2 specsconverting frost to incorperate 2H, while killing off any possibility for Unholy DW - apparently the experiement end up leaving bitter taste in our mouth for 2H viability, while further solidify unholy being the grand nanny of disease petting zoohonestly, the best fun i had, was being a blood tank and blood dps. now, i'm left with only 50% of that, and i'm not even sure the remaining 50 is actually being fun, at all and oh yeah - apparently one reason they converted blood presence into a tanking presence was they felt it was 'wrong' using the 'wrong' presence to tank. care to explain how the same concept is actually 'fine' when both frost and unholy are using the same presence?

the original plan was for frost DKs to use frost presence.but as it turned out, with a properly timed rotation, the global cooldown reduction in unholy presence pushed it out mathematically.the difference is about 10% as far as i can tell.now if you're under certain thresholds for various stats(and over certain others), then it's actually more sensible to use frost presence if you're frost. if you fall under about 1.8k haste rating and you can't gain more from any sources for whatever reason, then you're better off loading up on mastery and rocking frost presence as you will sport more solid output then. if you can break 2k haste(2.2k is better), then your runic power generation is so high you HAVE to be in unholy presence to be able to use it all, because the slower global in frost presence means you will be sitting on maxed out runic quite often, and you can't dump it with frost strikes fast enough to generate runes.now there's actually a balance point you can hit with the right gear selection where either spec translates to being the exact same output. the trouble is, it's such a hard point to hit that if you change just one thing, it vanishes and unholy presence wins out.tl:dr - the frost DK presence selection depends on several factors, most vital being where your stats are and what you're doing in your rotation. at the lower gear levels frost can be competitive but when you rise over certain thresholds, frost presence holds you back.
