Around Azeroth: Darkness on the edge of town
Hey, there's nothing in the rules that says you can't use Photoshop for your screenshots. Edstrom of Blackmist Brigade on Darkmoon Faire (EU-A) has taken yet another portrait of one of his guildmates, this time of newly returned paladin Vangarde posing on the Stormwind rooftops. I can't tell if he's blowing a kiss or inspecting his fingernails for dirt, but he certainly looks dashing.
Want to see your own screenshot here? Send it to aroundazeroth@wowinsider.com. We strongly prefer full-sized pictures with no UI or names showing. Please include "Azeroth" in the subject line so your email doesn't get marked as spam, and include your name, guild and server if you want to be credited.

This is incredible! Of course, it's photoshopped. But it looks like an action figure.

I like that filter! Very sharp.
It almost looks like some other game.

There should be something againts using photoshot.
Now everyone will start using photoshop, and the really fun or clever pick will stop beeing relevant, and this column will start just being who is better at photoshoping.
Drack Oct 13th 2011 10:46AM
Are you pretty good at detecting these things?
Shinae Oct 13th 2011 10:47AM
I disagree. I trust Elizabeth to keep picking interesting/fun/clever screenshots, regardless of whether or not they are graphically altered.
Maybe your supposition would be the case if the screenshots were selected by popular vote, but they aren’t.

He is looking at himself, wondering what he has become after numerous years killing dragons.

I don't think that is really a big worry.
This is a very cool looking picture. I think the real pic of the Dark Iron Dwarves invading Colorado a week or two back was cool too. Ditto the usual screenshots.
There is room for all kinds of art in Around Azeroth.

This looks shopped. I can tell from some of the pixels and from seeing quite a few shops in my time.
Drack Oct 13th 2011 11:03AM
Or, you know, reading the article.

Drack Oct 13th 2011 11:46AM
Ah, should I put on the dunce cap or write "I will know my memes" fifty times on the chalk board?

@Drack, on youtube there is a channel all about meme history. Fun watches too.

He is actually summoning the Dragonzord, or attempting to as he seems to have misplaced the Dragon Dagger.
Edstrom Oct 13th 2011 11:22AM
And then he was gone, like Keyser Soze.

What set is this? Looks very cool.

Season 9 Paladin I think.

He's obviously celebrating Subway's Anytober sale.

Man, this pic is amazing. I don't really mind of using Photoshop, because I always thought of "Around Azeroth" as being creative in the picture you send. Well, creativity goes from picking the pose or scenario you want, to how you recreate an image you had in mind about a specific shot. Gratz on the pic!
