The Queue: Healing is ________ since the start of Cataclysm

I always loved fill-in-the-blank questions in high school and college, mainly because they presented me a golden opportunity to bull-jive my way through a test. There is such thing as "right enough" that the professor just relents and gives you credit, and by Jove, that leads us to our first question ...
Junikins asked:
I started to heal a lot at the start of the expansion, but I quit since it wasn't fun. Too easy to wipe a group with simple lag, and everyone always blamed the healer. Has it gotten any better?
I think it has. For one thing, all the heroics has been nerfed repeatedly, and the gear level has overall increased multiple times. That means it's not as cutthroat as it was at the beginning of Cataclysm.
The groups are also generally more knowledgeable as to fight and class mechanics. There aren't a lot of people still trying to figure out the basics of their class and the new systems that Cataclysm brought forth. This means less screw-ups and more power playing.
Also, I think it's easier for a healer to get up via the AH and good Justice Points rewards now. It's not terribly expensive to buy some purples from other players. JP collection is pretty swift these days, and you can get some pretty decent gear.
All in all, healing is a lot easier.

There's nothing that Blizzard is going to be able to do to stop WoW from dying to Star Wars.
Au contraire. WoW isn't going to die because of one game's being successful; it's not even going to die because of two or three games' being successful. WoW will only die when it's lived out its lifespan and drawn itself to a close. It's all in its own hands.
What I do suspect Star Wars will do is force Blizzard to become even more innovative and cutting-edge in content and graphics, and that's not a bad thing at all. I've been composing some thoughts on this issue; look for an editorial soon on it.
KioMa Ga asked:
How many staffers from WoW Insider are going to BlizzCon?
We're going to have between 15 and 18 people there, depending on a few factors. It'll be quite the crew!
Worddd asked:
Any news on new non-combat pets in patch 4.3?
Just what we've heard last week from Wowhead's datamining efforts. There haven't been any other reveals by Blizzard yet, and I wouldn't count on the datamining to be complete yet, either. (Blizzard always adds more stuff as the PTR progresses.)

Healing has gotten at least 20% cooler.

If only the DPS were good enough to clear dungeons in 10 seconds flat.

More mechanics! Oh no, that's too many mechanics.
More damage! Oh, less damage.
Oh wait, I know! Streamers!

@Luck: A lot of the really good DPS has switched to tanking and healing, since the DPS queues take FOREEEEEEVER

Healing is _cupcakes, cupcakes, CUPCAKES_ since the start of Cataclysm.
ravyncat Oct 13th 2011 12:14PM
Cupcakes made by exhausted Applejack. o.o;;

ravyncat: So... not baked goods, but baked bads?

Healing heroics has never been easier. Healing leveling dungeons, however, has only gotten worse. People seem to think the pre-85 dungeons have been nerfed, need no CC, and should be chainpulled. Don't heal dungeons past 80 to level. Just suck it up, pull out your neglected shadow spec, and quest.
ravyncat Oct 13th 2011 1:45PM
Well I prefer baked bads to the pony snuff fanfic any day... >.>;;
So yes...weird cupcakes with worms in them. Somehow that relates to healing...er...in MLP World! Yeah. XD

@Hollow
Hmm my experience is very different so far. Been leveling my priest as disc solely through dungeons the past few days and found that the nightmare I expected does not yet exist. I am only level 83, and I did just notice as i dinged 83 that the mana conservation game is finally starting to affect me (drinking between every pull or two) , but definately 80 through 82 were cake even though I had totally forgotten to train and was missing mastery and that +15% int passive ability. I have never played a healer for my main so I don't think I am all that skilled at it. So far Throne of Tides, Blackrock Caverns, and Stonecore are all super easy, with Vortex Pinnacle actually requiring me to push myself a bit. I suspect when I am able to queue for Grim Batol I might be in for a real challenge. But thus far, quite fun and a nice change of pace from tanking everything on my druid.

Oh, a madlib? Sweet!
Healing is "boobies" since the start of Cataclysm.

AudreyR Oct 13th 2011 11:13AM
I'd love to see healing boobies. In fact, forget the healing.

Kac Oct 13th 2011 11:16AM

Phil Oct 13th 2011 11:30AM

Kac Oct 13th 2011 11:32AM
