I am sure he has seen that link in that first sentence, but apparently you did not read HIS first sentence, as he is asking for tactics for a BALANCE druid, while the article you link to, just like this one, is for FERAL druids.

Chase is also the FERAL columnist. He doesn't do BALANCE guides. If you want a Balance guide, you'll need to talk to Tyler: http://wow.joystiq.com/bloggers/tyler-caraway/

Chase, Tyler and Allison share the Shifting Perspectives column. Chase does cats, Tyler does boomkins, and Allison does Trees and Bears.

Also, for the second part of the question, this WAS a Tier 5 guide. If you meant Tier SIX, Chase said in his opening paragraph that he is done with the soloing guides for now.

Not much of a balance druid guy. :) There's still a lot you can do as balance as you can definitely heal more than in feral, but you take quite a bit more physical damage. You should definitely be able to kill Hydross, Leo, and Lurker in SSC without too much trouble.
