The Queue: Books From Boxes
Not a new song, but one of my favorites circa 2007. The pounding rain continued its bleak fall; we decided just to write after all, after all.
Thatacus asked:
Who posts on WoWInsider's Twitter? Some times, some thing funny gets posted and I want to say it's Fox, but I don't want to inflate his ego anymore than I have to :P
Adam, Alex, Dan, and I all post on the WoW Insider Twitter. I'm generally the one who does non-newsy stuff on there, but it could be any of us at any given time. Fox has, to my knowledge and deep gratitude, never used our official Twitter.
Shrimper asked:
Whatever happened to Heroic Stockades? I vaguely remember playing through it during Beta but can't find much on what actually happened to those plans.
Heroic Stockades was never announced and certainly never playable.
Subtotal asked:
Will we be seeing a return of "Ask a faction leader" at some point?
Some of the answers in those columns were hilarious... Oh yeah and there was some thought provoking stuff in there too or something.
Yes. I'm writing it right now. Well, I mean, not right now, but I was before I was writing The Queue.
Susinko asked:
Do you think there will be more rewards for the Molten Front dailies? I have almost a thousand Marks of the World Tree and don't know what to do with them. It would be nice if we could buy the green Flame Bird that was datamined or those other skins of the Ravenlords that are on fire.
Not with patch 4.3 coming, no. Don't expect any Molten Front updates.
VioletArrows asked:
Is there someone we can report bad WoW Insider ads to? I keep seeing those text ads that say "It made my doctor furious!" "Your car insurance dealer HATES this!" "Follow this one simple tip..." And it's been shown on numerous websites that those ads/websites are all scams.
We have a "Contact Us" link at the top right corner of the site you can use to alert us of that stuff. Try to include a link to the ad in question where possible.
Noyou asked:
91 comments seems to be a record low for the Queue, at least in my viewings of it. Is this so?
Weekend Queues are kind of a crapshoot. I don't think 91 is the lowest one ever, but it's definitely on the lower end (as most Saturday Queues are).

ANY mid-high level zone in the old world before cataclysm. Zones in Kalimdor whose quests started or ended in Booty Bay.
As for Outland, i vote for Netherstorm - seems like half the quests there start in Nagrand or Shattrath

I have to say Ghostlands and whatever the Alliance equivalent is. It doesn't seem too bad until you realize you still can't fly there. The one redeeming feature is that you find Sylvanas's locket there.

That stupid item drop that starts quests helped me complete my last 3 quest in blade's edge awhile back. I'd been stuck at 3 left for like 7 months before finishing it.

The addon QuestCompletist is a great help for any aspiring Loremaster. It lists every quest for a zone with details on where to get the quest and can query Blizzard's database to show which ones you've done. Even warns you if there is a breadcrumb quest available for the quest you are about to pick up.
Also, I don't remember having to do dailies to finish Blades Edge. In fact, I'm pretty sure I had at least a few quests available in each Outland zone after getting Loremaster Outland.

RE: Blade's Edge -
I seem to remember getting the LM sub-cheebie without getting too far into Og'rilla. I don't remember clearly, though, because it's been so long and I REFUSE to subject myself to LM again.
EveryQuest is the completionist addon I used. It separates quests into professions, dungeons, raids (what few there are), holidays, etc. It plays nicely with LightHeaded (it brings WoWhead into the game - VERY handy for leveling).

Yeah, I was using Everyquest when I got my Loremaster. I switched over to Quest Completist at the start of Cataclysm when EQ took a bit to be updated. Either one would be a help for any person going for LM.

For me it was a toss-up between Nagrand and anything to do with godforsaken Blackrock Mountain. Nagrand because someone screwed the hell out of the Garrosh/Thrall quests and now Horde is like 3-4 short of being able to complete the zone (I had to go get Loremaster in all the other zones to get a breadcrumb to come back to Nagrand for the last 3. wut) Blackrock Mountain because I shouldn't have had to spend 6 hours in there getting horribly lost, getting out, turning quests in, then getting another one to go back in there. I won't even go in there as an 85 now.

I've noticed that recently the Queue (and other columns) have been getting much more critical and vocal about their distaste for bad design decisions. I also have always noticed that the WoW community here has been, as a whole, very sycophant-ey. Can you explain any of this? Is it an interesting look into the minds of all your writers who all happen to be displeased with Blizz on certain things right now? Or are you guys merely trying to leverage your readership and size in the WoW community to try to affect change in Blizzard policy?

Unhappy people tend to be louder than happy people about what's making them unhappy. That good sir, is human nature.

Cata seems to have gotten the "bone-head expansion" stigma, don't you know?
I, for one, welcome our impending Panda overlords.

I can't say I understand why people would continue to do the same dailies over and over when they have nothing more to gain from them. I know that dailies are some people's prime source of income, but at 1,000 Marks I think I'd never want to see the inside of that zone again.
Mix it up, head hack to the Argent Tournament and sell some cross-faction pets or go to Uldum and smash some pygmies again.
Anyway, anyone else mildly disappointed with the first boss of Dragon Soul so far? I know that tuning isn't complete, but mechanics-wise it looks like one of the easiest intro bosses since Noth the Plaguebringer. Stack on boss, send three people to stack on the Orb, hide behind the pillar, lather, rinse, repeat.
Note that I'm not in total QQ mode, the next boss with the different colored orbs looks interesting.

Q4t...community: I started using twitter this month and I'm gradually
following and tweeting more of you guys as I catch your posts through
each other's pages, but no one ever says anything back ;-; Is that
just how twitter is?
Alternatively, Q4tC: how the hell do I get twitter followers?
Postscript: Yes, I'm an attention whore D:
mem0ryburn Oct 16th 2011 12:44PM
Most people with 4+ digits in followers have better things to do, generally, than reply to your tweets. No offense.
mem0ryburn Oct 16th 2011 12:45PM
question the second, be funnier and post noodz
Shade Oct 16th 2011 1:13PM
hmmm.... valid point. I'm just sad cause I only have 1 follower and she doesn't get my comments about WoW and LoL ;-;
mem0ryburn Oct 16th 2011 1:18PM
i'll follow you if you follow me :P

woot :O
Mine is @SyntheticAether. It's private because I got hit with like 30 spam bots in the first two days, but my avatar is currently a diagonal split between the old Tree form and Maokai from LoL. Twisted Treant of Life!
Killik Oct 16th 2011 2:26PM
Er, hang on - you want more followers but your tweets are hidden? I think I see where the problem may lie.
