Breakfast Topic: Are you ready for Hallow's End?

I have to say, the Headless Horseman may very well be my favorite WoW villain. He's classic, he's spooky, and his voice and gimmick are a whole lot of fun. I'm almost sad he's only around for a few weeks every year. This year, I'll definitely be after his helm so it's there as a transmogrification option in patch 4.3. I'll also be grabbing the new pets for sure, and hopefully one of each mask so I can finally get that silly achievement done. I'm also really hoping the new Gilneas vs. Undercity subplot provides some new lore for our sadly neglected furry friends.
So how about it -- are you ready to get started? Will you be aiming for a set of Reins and the Hallowed title this year? Are you after a couple of pets? Are you excited to visit your old crazy friend in the Scarlet Monastery every day? Or are you just taking it easy?

GHOSTCRAWLER PROMISED ME A HEADLESS HORSE.
Wait...

I plan to ignore this Holiday. Not because it's not a great holiday, because It's a great holiday!
I have my Warrior to get to 85 (currently sitting at 78 will be 80 tonight) and my Priest beyond lvl44. I hope by the this holiday's over I'll be on around 60ish, no idea.

We ignore good things now? Alert the Ministry of Truth.

Unless they've nerfed it, the candy buckets have traditionally given pretty decent xp. You might want to supplement your levelling experience with a little travel time and take advantage.

using the bonfire at the wickerman in SW or UC gives you a 10% rep and xp gain bonus, might wanna check that out.
and of course get a good ring for your fresh 85 warrior, perhaps even a helm if you're lucky.
I wouldn't ignore this event at all.

Alright, so maybe I won't completely ignore this holiday!

Well I joined in and spent some time with my three healers getting the 365 ring with spirit and the DPS caster ring as well. My DPS mage then got his ring and my hunter got his ring - already had as good as the weapon drop, so all I needed.
Then I went on my tank and realised I didn't really want anything - no tanking gear available - just a helm without parry and dodge that laughs a lot. So I got my pumpkin and left. I foresee a lot of DPS pretending to be tanks as the already small tank population has no need to go in.

I'm after the reins and title on my priest, also the healing ring drop. I'm ready and started horseman runs last night, 6 healing ring drops so far and lost every one of them...among the winners were a mage, a warlock and a feral druid. -.-

There's no way I could be more ready! :-D I'd killed the Headless Horseman on three different characters before even going to work this morning. And this evening I'll be tricking and treating like there's no tomorrow. Gods, I love this holiday! The only consolation at the end of Brewfest is that Hallow's End is near...

This sums up how I feel exactly.
Hallows End is my favorite holiday by far. I must get the adorable kitty pet on every alt. I MUST. Kitteh in a witch hat...squeeee! And the creepy crate! And maybe even the wickerman.
I plan to kill the Headless Horseman constantly on at least four characters until he spits out delicious loot. His helm would be a giant upgrade for both my DK and my Ret Pally since I don't raid. My three alts could all use his rings and two of them would like his horse. I might even go for the full title on my other 85's--my main has had it for a while.
I'm also planning on trick or treat XP to level at least two alts too little to tackle the HH.
Oh it will be soooo fun! *jumps up and down happily* I can't wait to get home from work so I can play.
Natsumi Oct 18th 2011 10:17AM
Oh yeah, I woke up at 3 am so I could get in a run before the 4am reset, ran 7 toons before the reset, then ran 8 toons. I also completed the Creepy Crate quest chain (most awesome pet yet) on one toon before passing out at 4:30 lol
Bellajtok Oct 18th 2011 10:50AM
I was planning to just get the title, but I can already tell this is going to be awesome after just a little time doing it! I'm going to have to restrain myself to not buy anything from the candy vendors until I know I won't be buying a spare......

Can't wait to get "NAME the Hallowed" on my DK this year!
restodr00d Oct 18th 2011 8:12AM
Ready and almost done, about to get Tittle and What a Strange Trip Has Been Achievment yai :D
MusedMoose Oct 18th 2011 8:15AM
My DK - who got "the Hallowed" last year - just hit 85 last night, so yes, I'm ready to beat the Headless Horseman down again this year, in hopes of the mount. ^_^ I'd also like to get the new pet, the cat with a witch's hat, for my priest, just because it seems oddly appropriate.
Goarther Oct 18th 2011 8:18AM
Just need the pets and to finish the mask achieve. Ill prob go and do the Cata zone achieve just so its done and not staring me in the face
Rezai Oct 18th 2011 8:20AM
Does anyone know if the pumpkin helm is transmog? It is blue but has terrible stats. If so all my undead chars are going to be running Headless Horsemen until they get them.
Mortenebra Oct 18th 2011 9:09AM
I think so long as it has stats on it, it's moggable. BUT... Seeing how it's a "fun" item, it may very well be exempt, regardless.
Joliver21 Oct 18th 2011 9:22AM
Basically the general rule is that any item that has stats can be mogged over to another item, as long as they are the same armor/weapon type. With this being the case unless all your Forsaken toons are plate classes (e.g. Dk/Warrior/or the rare undead Paladin :P) they can't mog it, so don't attempt to get the helm for those squishies.
Natsumi Oct 18th 2011 10:22AM
They changed it so that "Green or Better" is all that it requires, as the Replica armors from Darkmoon Faire don't have any stats on them either. So, it MIGHT be possible, I'll check on the PTR later and get back to ya.
