He's probably the reason we got a redemption retcon spearheaded by Thrall and Grom, rather than just a resurgence of the Old Horde for another assault. Ironically, Warcraft 3 and its (at the time) unique take on orcs for the genre was probably what cemented his position, which means his prior success with the Horde in that game is the cause of the storytelling disasters we have today with the Alliance.
