Breakfast Topic: What are your plans for BlizzCon this year?

And where is your place in this cosmic dance, dear readers? Are you on your way to the Blizzard mecca today? Or, like me, are you watching the live stream? None of the above? Remember -- if you're going, we'd love to see you at the Reader Meetup we're co-hosting with Wowhead and Gamebreaker.tv! If you're not going, check back with the site anyway around 5 p.m. Pacific (8 p.m. Eastern), because Gamebreaker.tv will be streaming the party.
| Tickets in hand and I'm on my way! | |
|---|---|
| I'll be watching the live stream. All the coverage, none of the lines! | |
| Eh, I'll get all the information I need from my guildies or the web. | |
| Wait, what? Is something happening? |
Turn to WoW Insider for all your BlizzCon 2011 news and information. Get ready to kick off the weekend with the WoW Insider Reader Meetup, cohosted by Wowhead and Gamebreaker.tv, and look for our liveblogs of the convention panels, interviews with WoW celebrities -- and of course, lots of pictures of people in costumes. It's all here at WoW Insider!

(see what I did there? I'm so lazy I'm not going to work nothing but fingers to get info)

Not sure I'd go with the "Eh," part of the third one, but I'll definitely be watching WoW Insider like a hawk for all the latest news.
No pressure, guys!
Kadzeroth Oct 20th 2011 9:39AM
I'm with Matt here. Normally I buy the live stream and keep my guildies up to date, but finances are tight this time around so I'm relying on you guys to keep ME up to date. :D

Allison, I'm missing the option "I would love to but live on a different continent and couldn't afford even the journey there, and due to time zones much of the best stuff happens when I sleep so e-ticket isn't quite an option either, and I'll be glued to my computer screen hitting "refresh" on WoW Insider every second of the day so I don't miss your coverage of the latest announcements."
Haiko Oct 20th 2011 8:43AM
^ This exactly covered it.
EaterOfBirds Oct 20th 2011 8:42AM
this this this! these lucky american pigdogs with their Blizzcons ^ ^
Orrine Oct 20th 2011 8:57AM
Yeah, nest time add this option with "hyperventilation" or "peeing in my pants" phrases please :)

Just a quick update...with an eticket, you can also watch events that happened before. So if you are asleep when something you wanted to see happens, you can watch a recording of it. Sure, by that time, the important news (announcement of expansion eg.) might be up at wowinsider, but its a great way to get to watch the whole thing, like the lore panels or whatever, even if youre in a different timezone.
Im in Europe right now, so thats what I will do, and Ill prolly get a lot of mileage out of the "recorded footage"-part =)

Almost it... just "I live too far away and it costs too much to get there." I'm not in another country, but I can't justify the expense from the East Coast. But it would be awesome to be there.

I'm just glad my wife gifted me a trip to the WWI 2008 in Paris. It's only a couple of hundred miles from where I live in Belgium. And I drive for free! (Company car + gas card).
Maybe I'll get to Blizzcon when the kids are out of the house and said house has been paid in full. We'll go to California in October and.. "whadd'ya know, it's Blizzcon dear and I just happen to have two tickets ;-)".
Yeah, I plan longterm.

Not going, not watching. Just working on Hallow's End stuff, mostly... though I'm looking forward to the guild chatter. Not any specific topic; I just like how Blizzcon ignites multiple new, excited, passionate conversations, and I like a lively, hopping /gchat every now and again. *shrug*
Yesiamzack Oct 20th 2011 8:11AM
One day, it'd be cool to be there in person. But I get amped up and excited enough just by checking WoWInsider every 20 seconds. ^.^
That should've been a poll option imo.
MusedMoose Oct 20th 2011 8:13AM
Looking forward to the news since, unlike last year, we really know nothing about what's going to be announced. Let's just say I'm hoping for something new and really interesting. ^_^ I just know I'm going to be glued to this site once I get home from work on Friday, as there should be tons to catch up on...
Nina Katarina Oct 20th 2011 8:22AM
Oh, hush. Not everyone can afford to take the time to fly to Anaheim.
That's my jealousy talking. This topic has shoved me right back onto the 'bah humbug' bench.
Sagretti Oct 20th 2011 8:24AM
I'll be parked on Wowinsider all day at work keeping up with the news, personally. I was going to order the stream to make Friday a little more tolerable, but saving for a major move makes blowing 40 bucks a big no no. I do wish I was getting the virtual ticket this year instead of last year, which ended up being majorly underwhelming except my Deathy pet.
razion Oct 20th 2011 8:27AM
I've decided on a specific hour of the day in which I'll be checking up for updates on the Virtual Ticket page. As all the events are saved so I can re-watch them, it doesn't matter if I actually catch everything precisely as it happens, and this also ensures that I'm not spending the entire Hallow's End looking up BlizzCon coverage, as opposed to getting my alts all their What A Long Strange Trip It's Been.
I know that if I don't get Hallow's End finished this year for most of them, that I'll be grinding the gold for *all* of their Artisan Flying and Master Riding. And that's not a thought that sits well for me, so I'm going to be putting Hallow's End first.
Mullets Oct 20th 2011 8:28AM
Haven't been able to scrape together enough cash for the stream, so i'll just be listening in on different streams covering. All things Azeroth, Gamebreaker.tv and what ever Scott Johnson throws my way.
And ofc i'll be following the news here on WoW insider too..
Oh and hoping that the opening ceremony will be free to watch again this year.
Shinae Oct 20th 2011 11:40AM
Where do you go to (legally) watch the opening ceremonies for free? Will that be on Blizz's site?
