Murkablo already showing up in player mailboxes

I logged in to check, and indeed, Murkablo is already here! If you've ordered the stream, your character's next trip to a mailbox should yield your own personal fire-breathing menace.
Thanks to Jeff and A Pence for the tip!

Good news!
My Murkablo was in my mailbox and has been added to my collection.
Bad news!
I am not sure if he is bugged or not as he's currently silent, plus no achievement like last year with Deathy.
brianknudsen Oct 20th 2011 8:52PM
yup also had mine in my mailbox here in denmark.. But no achievement
Charron Oct 20th 2011 9:00PM
Prob no achievement until 4.3, since it wasn't supposed to be redeemable til then. Grats! Hope I can redeem my card when I get home from the WI shindig!
Cephas Oct 20th 2011 10:25PM
Well, the 4.3 PTR still doesn't have a Murkablo FoS. Maybe they'll add it to a future PTR build, though.

I doubt there will be an achievement as it's simply a 'bought pet' now, rather than a BlizzCon exclusive. You don't get achievements from the pets bought from the Blizzard Store or the TCG, I can't imagine this would be any different.
Zaphkela Oct 20th 2011 9:43PM
But you get an achievement for pets from the Collector's Edition version of expansions, and those are no less bought.
Iirdan Oct 20th 2011 9:49PM
Murkablo is definitely a BlizzCon exclusive. The virtual ticket has always offered the BlizzCon exclusive pet to people who ordered it, and Deathy still granted an achievement.
Wulf Oct 20th 2011 10:08PM
Excuse me... 'BlizzCon attendee exclusive'.
'10 was the first year they offered the formerly attendee-only ingame item to those were weren't actually at the convention.
Deathy may've provided an achievement, but I think they came to the conclusion that the BlizzCon items no longer should grant as such, as they're no longer exclusive to those who were actually there.
As for the Collector's Editions, that's a different animal altogether.
Cephas Oct 20th 2011 10:23PM
There were feats of strength for Grunty and Deathy, both of which you could get just by buying Blizzcon virtual tickets. This is the exact same situation, so there should be a feat of strength.

It wasn't 10' it was 09' when they started it. I got the PPV the first time they did it then and got the Murky Marine Space Murloc pet AND the achievement. Then last year was Deathy AND the achievement. This year the pet and NO achievement.
I think that blizzcon attendee's should have exclusives for going. And they do. Its in the form of 1. Being there. 2. The statues, aka tyrael or deathwing from last year, and all the other goody bag stuff.
You could still argue a pet. But it would seem silly for PPV and Attendee's to get the pet, but only the Attendee's get an achievement.
My guess is that it came too soon and did not get the achievement in the game for some reason and they'll add it in later.

You're so very wrong. It started with the first DirecTV broadcast for Blizzcon '08 offering the Polar Bear mount which I have. They continued it in '09 with the first online stream with Grunty and then '10 for Deathy and now '11 for Murkablo. It is Blizzcon Exclusive for all attendees and livestream purchasers. Sorry you're annoyed that if you want a super cool pet you have to shell out $40. I know that having my Blizzcon items makes it so that I can oneshot Heroic Deathwing and it's a horrible unfair advantage that I'm paying for.. oh wait
Ringo Flinthammer Oct 21st 2011 2:21AM
There are achievements for all of the BlizzCon in-game goodies, including Murky, the very first reward.

Hmm bought my stream from DirecTV and don't seem to have my pet yet...
Iirdan Oct 20th 2011 9:50PM
You have to enter the stream redemption code they send you on the BlizzCon site.
Mahram Oct 20th 2011 10:24PM
Is it directly mailed or do we need a redemption code? I was hoping to trade this pet for a new weapon which will be impossible it it's mailed directly.
Skarn Oct 20th 2011 10:41PM
It is directly mailed to each character on your account. It is not tradeable. Possibly BoA, but you can't give it to anyone else.
Mortenebra Oct 20th 2011 11:06PM
It's not BOA in the sense that you can send it off to your other characters. You'll just have a Murkablo waiting in the inboxes of all of your characters.
Natsumi Oct 21st 2011 1:51AM
I didn't get a code, but I had already linked my account to the purchase. Got mine in the mail around 5p cst
