I doubt there will be an achievement as it's simply a 'bought pet' now, rather than a BlizzCon exclusive. You don't get achievements from the pets bought from the Blizzard Store or the TCG, I can't imagine this would be any different.

But you get an achievement for pets from the Collector's Edition version of expansions, and those are no less bought.

Murkablo is definitely a BlizzCon exclusive. The virtual ticket has always offered the BlizzCon exclusive pet to people who ordered it, and Deathy still granted an achievement.

Excuse me... 'BlizzCon attendee exclusive'.
'10 was the first year they offered the formerly attendee-only ingame item to those were weren't actually at the convention.
Deathy may've provided an achievement, but I think they came to the conclusion that the BlizzCon items no longer should grant as such, as they're no longer exclusive to those who were actually there.
As for the Collector's Editions, that's a different animal altogether.

There were feats of strength for Grunty and Deathy, both of which you could get just by buying Blizzcon virtual tickets. This is the exact same situation, so there should be a feat of strength.

It wasn't 10' it was 09' when they started it. I got the PPV the first time they did it then and got the Murky Marine Space Murloc pet AND the achievement. Then last year was Deathy AND the achievement. This year the pet and NO achievement.
I think that blizzcon attendee's should have exclusives for going. And they do. Its in the form of 1. Being there. 2. The statues, aka tyrael or deathwing from last year, and all the other goody bag stuff.
You could still argue a pet. But it would seem silly for PPV and Attendee's to get the pet, but only the Attendee's get an achievement.
My guess is that it came too soon and did not get the achievement in the game for some reason and they'll add it in later.

You're so very wrong. It started with the first DirecTV broadcast for Blizzcon '08 offering the Polar Bear mount which I have. They continued it in '09 with the first online stream with Grunty and then '10 for Deathy and now '11 for Murkablo. It is Blizzcon Exclusive for all attendees and livestream purchasers. Sorry you're annoyed that if you want a super cool pet you have to shell out $40. I know that having my Blizzcon items makes it so that I can oneshot Heroic Deathwing and it's a horrible unfair advantage that I'm paying for.. oh wait

There are achievements for all of the BlizzCon in-game goodies, including Murky, the very first reward.
