Blizzard announces World of Warcraft Annual Pass

In addition to getting full access Diablo 3 to download and play for free the same day it's released, Blizzard is throwing in a few goodies for anyone who signs up for the annual pass. For one, you'll get the in-game World of Warcraft mount Tyrael's Charger. You will also gain access to the beta of the next World of Warcraft expansion as soon as it goes live. For more information, check out the official Annual Pass promotion page. The official FAQ is live as well, as is Blizzard's official walk-through of the sign-up process.
Stay tuned throughout the day for more information coming from the BlizzCon floor!

For someone like me, who pays six monthly regardless of what is happening, it's like a free DIII, which I would have bought anyway.
I'm happy.

What happend if Im in a recent 6 months subscription (i have like 5 months rmainnig)?
Artificial Oct 21st 2011 3:06PM
It gets applied towards your 12 month commitment. Nice, eh?
Nijel Oct 21st 2011 3:33PM
"I have an active subscription already; what happens to the time I already paid for?
Any qualifying subscription time remaining on the account at the time of accepting the Annual Pass offer may be applied toward the 12-month subscription commitment.
For example: If you had started a 6-month subscription 2 months prior to accepting the Annual Pass offer, 4 months of your remaining subscription time would be applied toward your 12-month subscription commitment."

Official page says "before November 18" but the extended FAQ says "before October 18."
Which is it?
TC Oct 21st 2011 3:00PM
Well considering today is October the 21st.....
langiszero Oct 21st 2011 3:03PM
Doesn't answer the question. If it's November, it gives me a chance to get back into WoW. If it's October 18, I can't take advantage of this. Since I'd *like* to take advantage of this, I'm hoping for a clarification.
Croe Oct 21st 2011 3:17PM
It would be November 18th.
I've just signed up and it clearly states that DIII is now in in the list of games connected to the account.
(Though I can't download it yet, of course.) :)
Artificial Oct 21st 2011 3:55PM
It's both. The dates you're quoting out of context are for two different deadlines. You have to already have a WoW account by 2011-10-18, although it can be inactive. The deal is not available for a new account if you create one today, as that date has already past. But for any existing accounts, including unsubscribed/lapsed ones, you can sign up for this deal (resubbing if necessary) before 2011-11-18 and take advantage of it.
Skarn Oct 21st 2011 4:28PM
Artificial is correct.
Only accounts created BEFORE October 18 are eligible.
You only have until November 18 to sign up.
After that day passes, no one else can sign up.
langiszero Oct 21st 2011 6:02PM
Many thanks for the responses.
So let's say, hypothetically, one has a Battle.Net account that has a banned WoW account on it, said person got a new WoW key today. That hypothetical individual who totally isn't me would *not* qualify, correct?
langiszero Oct 21st 2011 6:30PM
Also, the date discrepancy is gone. The splash page for the promo now says 10/18.
:(
:( times infinity.
Thanks for the responses regardless.
Skarn Oct 21st 2011 8:38PM
If someone has ONE WoW account right now and it is banned, then gets a new WoW account tomorrow, they likely would NOT be eligible for this.
The rules do state you need a current account in good standing. It can be inactive, but can't be banned. Sorry. :(
langiszero Oct 21st 2011 10:16PM
No worries. Thanks for the info!
Gibnit Oct 21st 2011 2:57PM
Just tried to upgrade. I'm on a one-month renewal right now - it wanted to lock me in for $15/month for twelve months.
If you're on a three or six month rolling term, do you get the lower rate you're on right now?
Croe Oct 21st 2011 3:38PM
It's about $12.00 a month for a six month plan, which is certainly cheaper.
Koleckai Oct 21st 2011 2:55PM
I already updated my account... Would probably maintain my account for a year anyway but getting Diablo III for free is a great bonus.
Mike R. Oct 21st 2011 2:56PM
I tried to sign up for this and it says I have no eligible accounts. :(
Anyone else try to sign up for it yet?
