Blizzard announces World of Warcraft Annual Pass

In addition to getting full access Diablo 3 to download and play for free the same day it's released, Blizzard is throwing in a few goodies for anyone who signs up for the annual pass. For one, you'll get the in-game World of Warcraft mount Tyrael's Charger. You will also gain access to the beta of the next World of Warcraft expansion as soon as it goes live. For more information, check out the official Annual Pass promotion page. The official FAQ is live as well, as is Blizzard's official walk-through of the sign-up process.
Stay tuned throughout the day for more information coming from the BlizzCon floor!

Skarn, thank you.
Man, this is tempting. I may not be one of those players that had an easy decision here (still playing and planned on continued play) but this is compelling. Smart, Blizzard.

A big thank you to everyone who is providing useful information. I left WoW a couple months ago but this is, alas, making me reconsider. But, I have a question regarding the Collector's Edition of D3.
If I sign up for the Annual Pass and then later get the D3 CE, can I also download the game immediately on release or do I have to wait for the physical box to arrive?

You can download the game immediately, the Annual Pass covers that. Your Collector's Edition will just give you added goodies.

Ty Blizzard for leaving Latin American Players out of this promo, we always knew we were 3rd wolrd customers and that our money doesnt have the same value as the American Dollars

Free stuff for guaranteeing to pay for something I was going to pay for anyway? Nice.

I have spoken to some RL friends. It is a no brainer.
At our club everyone will take the offer. Only 2 didn't because they want to have a Diablo 3 box in their hands.
2 more resubscribed because they were waiting for D3 anyway and now have it for free.
I hesitated at first because I wanted to get the box too. So now I'll order the CE edition and even have another 4 months extra WOW sub.
With a little luck I'll never have to pay for WOW any way by selling stuff on the D3 auction house :)))
For those thinking SW TOR will add anything. Be prepared to relive the AOC/WAR/AION/RIFT experience. These games are all dead after 3 months. Adding voice overs didn't help anything in the past. Land of the living dead I call them.

9:38 - read about Annual Pass and bonus goodness
9:42 - Logged in and signed up :)
Requiring a one year commitment slowed me down slightly (Battle.net says in strong word in a different color font "...CANNOT BE CANCELLED", the different color font ALWAYS means it's something important lol). Then I looked back on the Vanilla days when I handed them my life and credit card number and cried "Let loose the dogs of War(craft)" and realized a 1 year commitment was just another milestone in a long relationship.
(Apologies extended, sleep-deprivation)

Damnit Blizzard, why are you trying to get me to play again? This is some serious bait for those of us who quit. I just reached the 6 months clean milestone, and just recently uninstalled the game from my computer. I refuse to ever play WoW again, but this sure is tempting. This is probably the biggest test of my resolve I've ever faced. haha!

Hi…Ok, I am still confused about one thing regarding the Annual Pass and the D3 Collector's Edition. I realize you get 4 extra months if you buy the CE. But, does this mean you really have to buy D3 a second time? Would you have 2 copies of the game? I guess my disconnect comes from the knowledge that we can download D3 as soon as it becomes available but the physical merchandise that comes with the game is elsewhere and they would have to mail it to you. Is there an option when ordering the Annual Pass for the D3 CE or not? If not, it seems you would have to buy the CE in addition.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

What about exchange rates?? I'm in Australia and ATM the AU$ has almost parity with the US$ but is dropping. I bought a month subscription to renew my account which cost $AU$15.02. Now if the Aussie $ drops substantially which it could I might end up paying MORE even AU$20-$25 per month. A drop to .75c which is very possible in today's economic climate would have me paying AU$20 per month = $240 Annual Pass!! Increase of $60 = free Diablo 3 wiped out. The only real solution is to buy the 12 months very quickly. Of course I want the deal but it's tailored for Americans as their currency is base and you can't lose anything from market fluctuations.
