Our friends over at Wowhead News (who helped us throw a heck of a party) also have been posting all sorts of
Mists of Pandaria information. One of the tidbits they have for us are what, exactly, our new Pandaren brothers and sisters will have for racial abilities. It's interesting to see that these racials are pretty strong for leveling.
-
Bouncy: reduces fall damage by half.
-
Inner peace: double rested XP.
-
Gourmond: +15 to cooking.
-
Epicurean: double stats to food buffs.
-
Quaking Palm (from the live stream): Puts a target to sleep for three seconds.
Some of these (the Epicurean racial in particular) seems pretty strong, maybe even
too strong. They're interesting in terms of how they touch on the Pandaren's lore and personality. Keep reading our coverage, including
liveblogs of each panel.

Wow, all I can think of is that it is a spin-off of Kung-Fu Panda =C

If you knew a thing about Warcraft Lore, you would know that Pandaren(hint warcraft3) has been in the game since before Kung-Fu Panda was made.

Hopefully female Pandaren aren't just skinny black-and-white patterned creatures that look like humans with weird legs and animal-head masks like they did for Worgen.
We need some hefty girls. I wanna go all Monk-style on a baddie and have him fear my 400-pound Mama Bear turning him into the world's most harmonious pothole.

"You realize that all these traits you name have been part of lore since long before Kung Fu Panda, right?"
That just show's that they're even less creative. What's the point in having a creative team if they're just going to rehash the same thing that we've seen since "at least the 90's..."
Pandas, neat. China theme, neat. Martial arts, neatish. All three mashed together. Underwhelming.
Don't get me wrong, I'm certainly not going to say it's all going to be bad. I just think it would be nice if Blizzard would put some more effort into their concepts.

I knew that already (played WC3), but the gameplay and art seems to reflect Kung-Fu Panda more than their Pandaren lore (c'mon, a bouncy racial?).

Surely they won't keep all of those racials. People will be crying "OP" for days...

Literally just watched kung fu panda 2 and I have to say the racials seems like a total rip off and blizz are "jumping on the bandwagon" so to speak to attracts its younger audience. For example the "inner peace" racial is a major theme in the second film, and the food bonuses reflect the main character along with the bouncy racial. Yes Pandaren were in WC3 before KFP but still doesnt hide the blatant plagarism. I quit wow around 10 months ago after 4 years and this new expansion just seems like a big joke tbh and blizz have totally sold out.
