I looks like Blizz is in the process of updating their site already. (Not all of the links work as of this moment though.)

Yes, the art does look good. It looks very Chinese, and I think that is intentional and they're not trying to hide that at all. I wonder if they expect a large boost to their Chinese playerbase from that look/feel? If I were Chinese, I'd have to guess (since I'm not, I can't KNOW) that I would be much more likely to play an MMO that reflects the beauty and strength of my culture, just by reason of pride in one's self, one's origin, and one's country.

The new zones look absolutely gorgeous. Questing becomes so much more enjoyable in beautiful areas, to me. I loved Nagrand in Outlands and Sholozar Basin in Northrend...all the areas they showed in this preview were right up my alley. It really made me smile.

Everybody who's still deriding this has their own preconceived notions and I say to hell with them. This is going to be amazing.

Was anyone else a tad bummed out that we didn't get even a hint of who/what our big enemy for the expansion will be? I mean, We've got at least 3 kicking around for sure, but not knowing how is a bit... I'm not sure how to word that. We knew who we were going up against right from the get-go for the previous 3, so I guess that's what throws me off here. I mean, yeah, it'll surely be a freaking awesome expansion, and we know a touch of who bad guys are to the Pandaren, but not to those of us who aren't Pandaren (Draenei FTW - us and them will get along good ferr sherr).

Awesomesauce! I'm all hopping for new ways to show your faction pride!

Wtb char slots? 11 classes 10 char slots?
Noyou Oct 21st 2011 3:40PM
I would expect them to expand at least to 12. Probably more for a price*.

Officially jumped the shark...
or jumped the panda?
Jonsi Oct 22nd 2011 2:44AM
If space goats and werewolves weren't jumping the shark, I'm sure kung-fu pandas will be alright
Berlain Oct 21st 2011 4:00PM
I'm in the jumped the panda camp.
Oh, they'll do well with this expansion overall, in raw numbers, but to quote Ross Perot, "There will be a giant sucking sound" as old timers (both in age like myself and long time subscribers) leave for more interesting MMO pastures, ones that don't feature trope-filled stereotypical kung-fu pandas. I know, haters going to hate...
JumpedTheShark Oct 21st 2011 4:22PM
That was exactly my thought. "WoW just jumped the shark"
Darias.Perenolde Oct 21st 2011 4:44PM
Trope filled? Look at the game you're playing! Most achievements, a good share of the dialogue, and a good many of the NPCs even are tropes, inside jokes, and blatant breakers of the fourth wall jokes.
I for one welcome our new monastic overlords.
Juzelle Oct 22nd 2011 6:12AM
honestly, the game is 7 years old and feeling it's vintage. anything at this point in time, whether it be dragons for everyone, or houses, or the emerald dream, would be jumping the shark.
I love this stupid game, and I'll probably keep playing for who knows how much longer. But It's getting long in the tooth, and if pokemon and panda bears and twitch mechanic fighting keep the game fresh, then whatever.
cool beans in my book, sharks or no sharks.

Pet battle arena will be right beside the dance studio
Svylva Oct 21st 2011 3:30PM
I like it. I'll play it, and I'm sure I'll enjoy it. But my gut feel is WoW loses a LOT of subscriptions over pandas.
Kylenne Oct 21st 2011 3:31PM
My gut feeling, judging by the people who are freaking out over this, is that the kind of humorless killjoy that would quit over pandas is the sort that makes the rest of us miserable in LFD and trade chat. So I'm not sure that would hurt the game too much.
Shinae Oct 21st 2011 3:38PM
I agree with Kylenne. Those who need their MMO of choice to be super-serious can go play elsewhere. Those who play an MMO to, you know, have fun and kick ass will be happy with WoW.
